Hello, I just introduced myself over where you're supposed to do that so anyway, as I have started detailing again in earnest over the last several weeks I have come up with some specific and general questions that I know I should probably search for but I was having trouble with some.
1.Most polishing products seem to recommend working a 2x2 area and I seem to push this a little/alot with no worse results. Comments on this?
2. Todays detail, 1980 M B diesel, pale yellow original paint, cared for until recently, 5 years ago or so, moderately oxidized. With PC went IP orange pad, fp white pad, p21s by hand, looked great, pics of after really bad because of rain that began the MINUTE i finished. Anyway, on one panel I was curious and skipped the fp went straight to p21. Results were to my eye and hand, indistinguishable. Is fp only necessary if the ip hazes? I was using 7424 on 5.
Any comments welcome and appreciated.
3. In general on oxidized paint, how do you polish in the areas the PC can't reach? By hand would seem the right answer but on above Mercedes I obviously coudn't achieve the same results by hand as the the PC resulting in a different color for those areas. Hardly noticeable but it bothered me. Suggestions for this?
4. Are bug and tar sponges really safe?
5. Anyone with specific knowledge of 350z detailing and the Daytona Blues in general, your comments would be most welcome.
Anyones answers, comments on any of these issues would be very appreciated. Thanks for looking.
