Heavy GM Content: (Everything polished using Rupes LHR15, Sonax Perfect Finish, Yellow/White Rupes Pads)

Nice job(s), curious because you mention 22ple and IW845. Which had which? I assume, which is always dangerous that you did not top the 22ple out of the gate right?

The Yukon, Escalade, Silver Stingray, and Black Vette with Chrome Wheel Package received 22ple. The Black Stingray with Black Wheels received Collinite Insulator Wax. All vehicles were washed and received an IPA Wipe Down prior to final sealant or coating being applied. Thanks for the reply!

nice work

how is the 22ple to work with?

Thanks. 22ple is great IMO. I would really say the most challenging part of the application is the prep like most things. You really have to make sure no dust or streaks from product from earlier waxing or polishing stages are on the surface, have a good timer in hand to make sure you're applying and removing the product within the recommended time, and it's nice to have lint free microfibers. Preferably new ones. I typically use 4 micros to remove the product. I personally love the gloss it provides and obviously it's great to have on your car if you wash it regularly. Easily shaves off time and makes the drying step a breeze! The wheel and metal coating works great too.

Awesome work. Which pads do you prefer on the 15?

Thank you!! I like the 5"(130mm/150mm) Yellow/White Foam Pads for one step polishing. Great pads! I also use the Meguiar's 5" Cutting Disc and Rupes Microfiber Cutting Pads to achieve more correction when called for. The Yellow Rupes Pad is a beast paired with Sonax Perfect Finish IMO though.

Does temp/humidity matter in wipe off time?

Does temp/humidity matter in wipe off time?

I'm sure it could. I've had no problems that I know of temperature or humidity related. When I apply the coating I would guess the temp of the shop is between 60-70 degrees. Somewhere between there. My problems come from applying the product to lighter colored vehicles and not wiping it completely off. It will haze but no matter what you do it will not wipe away. I then just re apply the 22ple to that section and make sure to wipe it all off. It happens...white vehicle applications can be challenging!
