HEAVY-DUTY Creeper Stool Received!

The Grand Marquis Man
In this thread I lamented about my falling off an old creeper stool and how I'd ordered a heavy-duty replacement.

I received it yesterday! I had to assemble it, but no tools were required. At first I had trouble figuring out how to secure the seat pad (it kept coming off if I lifted the stool), but after I sat on it, it locked into place.

It is STURDY and holds my weight (500 lbs) very nicely. And don't worry, TDMAN, the height adjusts low enough so you can reach the bottom of your car. It seems to go as low as my old stool (which is too low for me).

But the height also adjusts to a VERY TALL 22 inches, almost the height of a bar stool! However, I am not able to seat myself on it at that height, because of the wheels which keep rolling around on the floor as I make an attempt to sit. Normally sized people will be able to sit on it at a lower height, and then raise themselves up with the adjuster bar. Due to my weight, I am unable to use that bar to raise myself.

I highly recommend this stool for detailing work. (Read the original thread to learn that this is sold as a doctor's stool.) So get your order in today, cwcad, before your old creeper stool gives out!

Heh. Yes, our old UPS man and I were on a first name basis too. He recently reassigned to another area, and we're breaking in a new guy.

Very interesting thread and link. I've been looking for something quite like the one's at the auto supply store but only better quality.

Thank's

Let me add that the guy who took my telephone order called me back yesterday to see if I'd received the stool. I thought that was a nice touch, to do a followup on the order to see whether the customer was satisfied.

A couple of updates: The above link is obsolete. Here is the updated link:

http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailing-general/10198-heavy-duty-creeper-stool.html?highlight=creeper+stool

I've had the creeper for almost 2 years now, and it has held up marvelously to my weight. I moved it into my kitchen due to mobility problems, and so I'm about to order another one.

This is the new link for the company that sells the exam stools:

Source Medical Equipment - Buy Medical Equipment, Chairs, Stools, More

They no longer have seats to hold my weight. I'm going to have to shop the Internet for another site.

It ain't cheap but this ought to do the job. Scroll down to the KreepStool!

Weight limit is 450lbs on that stool.

Hey theamcguy, the Kreepstool looks great! $240 is expensive, but audiboy, if it can hold 450 lbs, it should be able to hold a "little" more. :)

[edit] I forgot to add, I really like the Kreepstool's 6 wheels. There is no way I can turn over. That is key for a heavy person. Remember, in my original thread, one of the wheels of my creep stool failed, and down I went! OURCH.

Thanks for both of your inputs. I'm still searching, but I welcome help from everyone!

ALERT:

I just found the Kreepstool for $149.00 at Frontgate:

Rolling Kreepstool Garage Chair - Frontgate

I ordered one (no color choice) and paid $166.00 ($17.00 S/H) for it! I'm so happy that this sturdy chair will soon be mine!

It's still a lot of money for a stool, but a bargain to keep from going on your butt when you try to move to a different location. :)

This is true, Charles, that it's still a lot of money. But big people are used to paying more. It's the same principle as detailing a leetle subcompact car vs. detailing a Ford Excursion. Big people pay more for their clothes, shoes, accessories, because they have to be made out of larger, stronger materials.

To me, $166.00 is bargain.
