heartbroken over paint...help please

Under the floresent lights last night I noticed water spots on my $3500.00 Dupont Chroma Premier pait job from last January. Today I washed and used some Sonus Acrylic Glanz...did nothing...then used Klasse AIO....did nothing... :( can someone help me out here and advise please?
 
I would step up to something a little stronger than AIO, what products do you have? and are you working by hand,or machine?

I am working by hand, however I do have the Porter Cable polisher (just haven't used it but once several years ago when I bought it...Have found not necessary because my finishes are (were :( ) in good condition.



I have some Dupont white and orange comppound, but I am thinking both of those are to strong...this is pretty much brand new paint without the first swirl in it.



I also have some Melguires swirl remover and I think that might be OK to use....thoughts please?



Maybe I ought to do this with the PC. Can I have suggestions on a better product to use and the right pad? I certainly hope it is not etched.



I think this happened on the way to North Carolina on Thanksgiving. I had to go through Newport News, Virginia where there is a ton of industrial enterprises....



Any help here is greatly appreciated...

Yes, try the Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover. It's fairly mild so I won't be surprised if it doesn't do the job, but it's worth a try seeing as you have it on hand.
 
I'm not familiar with the DuPont stuff you mention. Which Megs polish do you have? It all depends on the degree of damage you're trying to correct. I'd probably hit it with Megs #80 to see if that helped, then get a little more aggressive as needed.



Got any pictures? Given a bad experience I had with one repaint I'm paranoid of solvent pop, which can look similar to water spotting in some conditions, but if it's been since January and it's just now showing up that's probably not the problem.



FWIW and future reference, a few layers of a good carnauba wax offers decent protection if you know you're going to be faced with hazards like acid rain or toxic bird bombs.
 
Can you still get Dupont orange and white? I haven’t seen that stuff since the Reagan administration. (I thought you could only get them under the No. 7 brand now.)



I sure wouldn’t use them on a clear coat. If the spots aren’t deeply etched the #9 should do the trick. Like Black240SX said, It’s really mild though, you may need to go stronger but try it first.

I noticed a few on my car too. Some ZPC took them down to almost invisible, I didn't want to keep killing clear coat to totally remove them. After someone mentioned that VA indeed does have acid rain, I googled it and sure enough.



What were you using as your LSP?
 
What is LSP...I am assume it is my protectorant....I have 1 coat of AIO and either 1 or 2 of SG plus 1 of s100 about 2....maybe as long as 3 months ago.....

"Officially" it stands for last step product. Generally it refers to your wax or sealant of preference.
 
As you are working by hand,i would recommend from personal experience,Einszett Metallic Polish,and Einszett Paint Polish;IMO,they are without hesitation,the best first choices,for working by hand in your situation.
 
Go to autogeek and get their 3.5" backing plate and pad for the Porter Cable. It is fabulous for touching up a quick area here and there with the PC without having to do a large section. That might work the best on just the area with the water spots.
