That's the Vinylex you sent me on those tires, indeed!

Note, I haven't reviewed it yet becase I'm not sure if putting the Vinylex over the TW 2001 gel made a difference - I washed the tires well, but I've found the gel to be pretty durable, and I'd just given them a fresh coat before the switch.

Also, to play with the shine I started by applying the Vinylex and not buffing it out. Hard to tell in the pic, but the tires have a highly textured surface - lots of those little grooves that seem to be all the rage. At most angles, they don't look shiny at all, but when you look from the side you can't see the grooves as much.

So far, I really like the the Vinylex. I want to give it another week to see the durability then I'm gonna post a review.

I think your getting somewhere here hook. "Layering" of different tire dressings on tires. I might try that, I have a bottle of Meguiars, Meguiars Hi-Gloss, EF BO, AA Extreme Tire shine (yuck!), Vinylex, and Valugard rubber protector.



I think I will always finish with Vinylex with its light cleaners in it to help even out the tire and make slinging low.

Hook, that last shot of your black Maxima is stunning. The black looks absolutely awesome. There is a certain richness to the color that makes it look all too nice. Keep up the great work!

if you're referring to the paint when you say black, it's actually a very dark green metallic. Looks black almost all the time except in direct sunlight. Pretty cool.



when it stops raining I'll try and stop by to borrow Tim's dig camera to take some pics of the Lexus.

Alright, that's it. I have to head out to Lexington to figure out what is in the water out there. MAN, what a nice shine. I plan to wash and put a second layer of KSG on the car tonight. My red stang shines, but the reflectivity(is that really a word?!) can not match Hook's maxima.

Hmm..maybe that new Chevy Silverado 2500 in dark green that I have been looking for can achieve such a shine. For now, the stang will have to do.

Hey Guys what's up?

I have a question here, How do you guys polish and remove scratches from the clear plastic heads up display, without doing any harm:confused:?

That's a delicate area, so you want to be careful with any kind of cleaners.

I've used Meg's PlastX and Novus Plastic Polish with excellent success.

I use a soft microfiber and very little product. Light pressure in a back and forth motion should clean up the scratches.
