hook dropped by today to hang out and talk car detailing. his maxima was looking so sharp i snapped a few shots. hope he doesn't mind me sharing them, this just looks to good not to share.

Its gotta be your driveway.....Its gotta be your driveway..

that makes cars stand out.

Or could it be the camera technique???

Gret Pics Tim (hook's car),

I must say, all the technique I have I learned from you guys here.

It does really look better in person. This is AIOx2, KSGx2. And Vinylex on the wheels (thanks Jason!, review coming soon!).

Next time I'll drive the Lexus over, you'll need sunglasses just to look at the pics!

Those darn pictures makes me want to perfect my techniques with Klasse even more.

Hook, Your welcome for the vinylex, and darn your cars are so nice.

I expect that review soon along with more pics.

Jason

Very nice pics indeed! Guys and gals, I think maybe Tim is using Brad's secret use of bacon grease over the finish of a car to get these type of pics. It's got to be Tim! Just kidding guys. Great work Hook.

No enhancement - we weren't even really going to take pics, just shooting the breeze, standing out there and noticed the reflection in the hood.

No work was done on the car that day, except trying a PC and some 3M PI FCRC on the spoiler to see if it would make a dent in the acid rain etching (it didn't).

The car was washed Friday, and had a Cal. duster run over it saturday night...that's it.

Here's what I did:

- Washed car thoroughly with car shampoo.

- Used 3M SMR twice over all, multiple times over some trouble area. product was applied with a cheap-o buffer, foam pad, and buffed by hand. NO hazing resulted.

- Put on one layer of AIO

(above took place over one weekend)

Over the next 3 weeks, put on another layer of AIO and 2 layers of SG. Never put on a layer sooner than 24 hours after the last one was applied. Also, thoroughly cleaned the wheels ( gave them an AIO/KSG shield. AIO on glass, 303 on interior.

Maintaining the shine with whatever QD is handy and a Cal duster.

Thin layers. AIO applied with a damp foam applicator, KSG applied with a piece of old, soft t-shirt, both buffed with a MT.

That's it, really.

Blue skies,

Andy

Waxman, the suggestion that photoshop was used to enhance pics is not a very tasteful one. Someone has already accused Tim of doing this before and he's clearly said that nothing was done to enhance the image. I would hope that we're all above that here. Laters.

If waxman was serious, that is really unfortunate. Tim (Snake) is a great guy and doesn't need to augment his photos; they speak for themselves about the work that he does.

it's never crossed my mind that the photos of klassed and zaino'd cars posted here might've improved with computer trickery. this forum is getting too big and anonymous.

Here's one snake sent me he didn't post.

By the way, he'd have no incentive whatsover to enahnce these, it's not his handiwork. I stopped by to pick up some stuff and shoot the breeze, the pics were an afterthought.

Next time I drive the Lexus and make sure it's *really* clean before I go.

blue skies,

Andy

Oh, and that's not a buffer burn along the C pillar. Took me a minute, but it's a cloud.
