headlilghts by hand only?

You mention you don't have a da or rotary but do you have a electric drill available ? A drill will work to polish the escort head lights . They can be done by hand but a drill would make it sooo much easier.

:iagree:

You can also buy a headlight resto kit at Autozone that will include everything you need (minus a drill) for like $20

Good Luck

If you are not ready to invest in a polisher, the drill option is a very good one for you. 3M makes a kit for a drill, that works very nice. You can get it it any auto parts store.

Good luck!

kits for headlight

Hi, Yes, I read about the kits and needing a drill.. Oh, I can just borrow my friends drill once he shows me how to use it.!!! First though, I want to use my hands and see how one side looks. If it takes me over an hour, then I'll try a drill. thanks, Opal..

Having just used the 3M kit, it is well worth it, just be sure to tape off the area around the headlights and if they are like my Sable, lift the hood and cover the engine bay as it will make a mess during the wetsanding portion. I didn't use the compound they provide in the kit as I already have Megs 105/205 available to me. Not a perfect job, but it was my first and only time to attempt this.

IMO working it with your hands is going to be a waste of time. Not trying to be a killjoy, just trying to save your time. This kit we are speaking of is super easy to use. It comes with everything you will need and has simple, easy to read instructions

Once you get proficent doing this you may find it a good way to supplement your income. I believe it would be a whole lot easier sell then a detail for your particular area

Yes, definately tape the area around the headlight up real good. The few times I have done this I applied 3 layers of tape just for safe measure.
