Headlight Rx. Needed please

Worked on a friends Jeep headlights tonight. Got them to 70 % of my standard. I used my flex and m100 witn a orange cutting pad. Till it fell apart. It’s from 2008 so I can’t conpkain. Then I switched to my rupes with a blue pad and M100.

What do I try next ?

I have a GG6 is that better than the rupes for headlights ?

Want pad, and polish would you recommend ? I did not coat them because I want to clear them a little more like 30% more :)

All I ever used was Meguiars 105 to get them all back to normal, then Meguiars 205 to refine and give them more clarity and gloss..
And on all plastic tail lights, I have never used anything but M105 and gotten beautifully clear, glossy, results..

I usually sand them. You can get the Mirka Abralon in 4000 grit and 3M Trizact in 5000, of course you can also go much coarser than that. I`m not sure if Meguiar`s is still selling theirs. You can find them in the store here by the box or Kevin Brown used to sell individually.
 
Microfiber, and whatever compound you have. The trick is don’t go so long without cleaning the pad. I go about 10 seconds, clean and repeat. You’re getting a lot of the plastic residue which clogs up the pad.

I use the 3" LC purple wool pads with Mckees 37 headlight restoration polish.
Usually 2 rounds if needed as the polish is a DAT. If I need to get more aggressive I will use m105 and then follow up with that or m205 but the purple wool pads do a nice job.
If MF/ Wool does not do the trick you may need to sand them first. I have bought the Meguiars and 3M headlight restoration kit from Autozone before to use in a pinch and they work well and come with 1000grit and 3000grit sanding discs which can be used by hand or by drill.
