What's a recommended plastic headlight cleaner, and do you also use a seperate product for poilishing the headlights to keep them from turning hazy or yellow?

Depends on how nasty they are. Plexus is an awesome light cleaner and scratch remover, and Meguiars Plastic Cleaner and Plastic Polish are excellent for heavier issues. For horrible stuff you can wet sand and use a compound.

Here is a before and after, this was Cleaner, then Polish, then Plexus. Cleaner and Polish were applied via PC, I think both with black pads although Cleaner might have been white, don't remember.

hi i was wondering if you can help me out? I wet sanded my headlights and fallowed up with some 3m polish compound. After that the headlights look amazing not a single scratch! But at night when i turn the headlights on theres a light film of hazy over them. I try using 3m plastic polish,nu finish plastic polish, and plastx but none seem to work! any suggestions on how to get them clear?

well i got these headlights straight from the dealership. so it should be new. plus the plastx did lower the haze level a little. But i use the whole bottle! It would take at least 4 bottles to get all the haze off!

A whole bottle :nervous2:

I did my girlfriends honda integra headlights yesterday with plastx, removed the cloudyness, discolouring and some light scratching too, they look great and I only used a tiny amount.

Possibly they need to be machine polished?

Depends. We have 4 Jeeps and none of them do that but we do not have one like the that picture. Thats a WJ and most of them that I see on the road are like that. My ex GF had a WJ and it was fine though.. Guess it all in how you take care of it.

common here in Indiana too. I work at a Chrysler dealership so I see these everyday. Mopar actually makes a kit now (well its a relabeled Wynns kit) to make the lights nicer.

I really need to get around to doing my civic headlights. :spot
