Heading to Bourbon Street! Where to go/what to do?

Great times down there :D.

Got back yesterday and slept WELL last night. I averaged about 4-5 hrs a night. We had a lot of work to attend to regarding fraternity business, but I did my best to get places.

Every morning we started around 8am so we couldn't get to Cafe DuMonde :(. The first day we went to "Beanie's". I really enjoyed the large portions, nice atmosphere, and very good food for the price.

For bars, well, jeez, I forget but I do remember... Tropical Isle...We were drinking Hand Grenade's all weekend :). Made it to the Absinthe bar as well and many in between. In the group of a few single guys, we always followed the flock of females. We stayed at the Fairmont hotel which is a block over from Bourbon St. Nice place, IMO.

I can honestly say that Bourbon St. is like no other place I've been. You honestly get a little bit of everything.

I definately took the wallet advice as well as the "shoe" advice. I got the shoe comment twice and just kept walking. Unfortunately I heard about 2 incidents where brothers were pickpocketed. Then I heard another where they caught the person and damn near slaughtered them on Bourbon St. I then saw one pickpocketer get thrown to the pavement by an unhappy victim (about easily twice the size). I got a good laugh at that. I was hoping to see some bloodshed, but a nearby bouncer broke it up.

All in all, a really good time, but next time I go, I will certainly plan for another couple of days there so I could've gotten to many more sites.
