I bought these rims for my Legend at a junk yard:
Cleaned them in and out:
As you can see, they look like solid faded silver paint. Watch this:
Not silver. Faded, stained, clear coated brushed aluminum.

Some slight cloudiness on 2 rims remains, but I couldn't get rid of it with 2 passes via Makita/wool pad/HD UNO so I left it for a long life. I didn't bother to polish after because it shows absolutely zero swirls or holograms due to the brushed aluminum design. I'm excited of the outcome.
