HD Polish Review

Certain scents can loose their potency. When this happens you can unfortunatly be left with a semi-foul smell This shouldn't affect your results one bit.

Thanks David.

Just want to give an update. Tried HD Polish again last week and it still works great. I gave it a long shake this time and I didn't smell the foul scent

HD is the new standard in both compounds and polishes. I tossed Po85rd out the minute I finished using HD polish for the first time.

Besides dusting, what advantages does HD polish provide over 85RD? How is the gloss comparatively. 85RD is a known beast in the gloss and clarity department.

Also can HD polish really be used as swirl removing polish rather than a finshing/jeweling polish?

Besides looking better, I'd say ease of use, shorter work time (non-diminishing abrasives) no dust, cost, easy to wipe off, super light oils that need minimal stripping when needed and smell.

mystickid- Yeah, they not only conceal some flaws but also give a short-lived boost to the gloss.

Aaaahhaaaaa, so thaaats, what that is. Like totally man, Whenever I finished off with 85rd, the gloss was sky-high but I didn't know the oils and stuff boosted gloss. I rather get true results. Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks Dave, then I'm sold.

Quick question I just got a sample of hd polish. I shake the bottle well and apply it to the thr applicator it looks like a regular liquid polish. As soon as I touch the pad to the paint and dab it around. It looks like melted ice cream on the paint. Like a gritty blob and not liquid anymore. After I start the Buffing process it seems to work ok but a very weird consistency? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Me either, but FWIW I really shake it up. If the weather's cold, you might try running some warm water over the bottle too.

Imy only concern whenit was delivered to me it was the coldest day of the year it was 17 degrees. All the samples were not able to be shaken till the next day. Wondering if the cold temps did anything. It seems after I dispense it to the pad like I said it's liquid. If I touch it it like change form. I can then ball it up in my fingers and roll it between them. So this dosent sound normal to you guys?

I added a couple of small stainless steel hex nuts to some of my bottles (like HD Poxy) to help agitate the product when I shake it up. Man what a difference and a timesaver. It is much easier and quicker to get an even consistency now.

FWIW and YMMV......

That's an excellent idea. I also saw a post where someone also added small ball bearings and it definitely improved the mixing.

I thought about that, but I think the odd surface area and the edges / threads of a hex nut would work better for mixing than a smooth ball.

:hmmm:
