Hawaiian Island Shine

LOL, Bill, that's just too much. I'm done with ordering new products for the heck of it. I 'schanged some nice emails with Waxgirl and decided to go ahead with the Stuf, but that's the last one. Everything I try looks great if I use it correctly, and I'm just starting to finally finish bottles of things. I have enough wax to last for a hundred years.

As a matter of fact, I've pulled in my horns on ALL extraneous purchases for the next 5 months, because we're going to HAWAI'I in March! So I can SEE what a Hawai'ian shine looks like in person, right?

Tom

I'm in the same boat as Tom. I really need to use up the LSPs I already have and I just bought 2 more tins of #16 today.

I really like the STUFF products(they only make 3)wash polish and wax.I had great results with them not to mention they are easy to use.

Tom,

You mean like this? :lol

But really, if you are really curious about this Hawaiian Shine product, just visit a Wal-Mart when you come to Hawaii, they sell some of the products there.

and well, i've seen this stuff before and read the bottle and i think it said something like formulated for Hawaii's climate.

Ah ha! I knew someone from HI would chime in. Formulated and bottled in HI just for HI conditions huh?

heh heh....i'd just googled for them and they have a website.

www.hawaiianislandshine.com

it doesn't mention it being formulated just for HI's condition (i think it was on the bottle) but it does say "Used by detailers island wide!" :D

also if i remember correctly, one of the products looked like VM after they've been sitting for a while, you know, the separation with a liquid at the top.

My younger son just loved using the Stuf Carnauba, said it is the easiest wax he's ever used. I think it took him 15 minutes to wax my Accord with it.

hirosh,

It's going to take a lot of willpower for me to bypass the WalMart and not detail the rental car, you know.

This will be our second trip to the Islands. I never thought that I'd make it to your home, and once I was there I started making plans to return. One thing I've found, the natural beauty of Hawai'i has helped me see the natural beauty of all of the earth; I live in one of the most beautiful places on the continent, northeastern Pennsylvania, and I never saw it until I started looking.

Your car looks super! Once I'm there, there's no reason to save any more; let's see what souveniers I can bring back... T shirts, Iz cds, coffee, macadamia nuts, flowery shirts, leis, car wax....

:lol maybe you can ask the rental car company for a black car.

wow, that's really nice what your first trip to hawaii did for you. :) which island are you planning on visiting? if you love nature, the neighbor islands are nice as they aren't touched by development as bad as oahu (where honolulu, waikiki, and i am located). the big island (hawaii) has active volcanos. but oahu does have a few nice twisty roads, like the one that goes by hanauma bay.

thanks. if you need car wax, give ranney a call. ;) or if you need help with info on hawaii, just let us know. :)

MAYBE the people of the big island can teach us a thing or two about WAX

Scottwax if you think the carnuba is easy to use tell your son to try the polish.

We were on the Big Island last time, and we're going back there again. Last time we made the mistake of trying to see and do as much as we could, and we wound up seeing most of it through the windshield. This time, we're choosing a few things and we're going to do them thoroughly, and with leisure.

One thing that I liked, among many others, were those big spiders with the red and yellow markings. DavidB, if you don't mind I'd like to post a non-car pic for a short time; these guys:

We're stayng at the Fairway Villas about 300 yards off of A-bay, in South Kohala. The deals are just killer there, $225/night for a 3 bedroom townhouse, the units are new in 2003. Split it with some friends and it's cheaper than the Poconos.

Hey, back on topic; I notice that their wax is Cherry Wet! I'd guess that that would give us a clue on who's manufacturing it for relabelling, wouldn't it? Not saying that there's anything wrong with that, but, well, it's worth knowing.

Tom

Tom - cool. Big Island is nice, not so much overdeveloped, yet. man, that's pretty sad, i'm from here and i didn't even know we had those kinds of spiders! but then again, i hate spiders....that Fairway Village sounds like a good deal considering you get a 3 bedroom townhouse. and you just made me interested in the HI Island Shine and their cherry wax with your other post. i just might have to find an excuse to go to Wal-Mart now! ;)

detailgirl - i didn't know it was that high. i guess because it is an average price of gas for the whole state. on oahu, i think it is a little cheaper. $2.46/gallon is how much i pay for premium.

alan81 - heh heh tell me about it. at least the beaches and beautiful weather is free! :D

Hirosh, just went to the new Wal-Mart in town. Besides being packed with people at 9 p.m., there were no Hawaiian Shine Products for sale. Last place I saw Hawaiian Shine Products was Daiei, which is near Wal-Mart.

Wow been awhile since i been posting here...And all i gotta say is that its cool to see another fellow Autopian from the states who likes listening to "Braddah Iz" .You should probably check out other local artists.Alot of good music to listen to:cool:...if you like a little reggae and hawaiian mixed together...Something called Jawaiian music....As far as souveneirs go Mosca, try looking over in Hilo Hatties if the Big Island has one...I'm sure youll find what u like there..All in all glad to hear that your first trip was enjoyable and that this return trip will also be a memorable one.

Scottwax-time for u to take a vacation also (specifically Oahu hint hint):p

Lastly-Ranney,Hirosh,Chris,Zestyman,Ben and newcomer 92MX.....Wassssahhhhh!

Aloha and Malama Ka Aina,

Robert

Hey, thanks for the warm aloha vibes from all the island autopians!

A friend I met on another forum sent me a cd she made of Hawai'ian artists and island music, that's where I met "Braddah Iz"; Hawai'ian Superman! I got hooked. "Jawai'ian music", I like that!

Another artist that knocked me right over is Keali'i Reichel. It's not the type of sound that I would normally like, but it's so... reverent. It's what Celine Dion would sound like if she actually believed what she was singing. It's very spiritual.
