Have BFWD....What should I buy next?

Is IHG a polish? Does it have any abrasives in it? I hear that it does fill in light scratches/swirl marks but it is not a permanent fix.

jerry,

if you are talking about 3m imperial hand glaze, it is not a polish but a glaze. It has no abrassives, think of it as makeup for your car. It will hide some swirling but is only a temporary fix.

If you are looking for a mild polish try the 3m perfect it for either light or dark cars. If something a little more abrassive is needed try either finesse it II or perfect III

not only is this cosmetic fix temporary, but it doesn't last very long and it doesn't work well with the popular systems on the board (K&Z)

I have been a lurker here for a long time. Havent ever felt the need to post as all my queries have been answered in relevant threads.

Right now I have the following products
1) Meguiar's Gold Class Step 2 and Step 3...oily finish not all that long lasting in the harsh dusty, tropical climes I live in
2) Meguiar's NxT 2.0 Liquid Polish
3) Klasse AIO (not very sure of how helpful this one is...need to test this more. Although I did not feel that KAIO by itself, without any topping, looks all that great)
4) Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint protection....Love this one...slick and wet and amazing ::drool5:

Now what do I buy next? I am so happy with BFWD. Should I buy more of the stuff? Or is there anything else out there that beats BFWD? I am not in favor of applying a caranuba wax on top of BFWD. Is there some product that can be applied on top of BFWD or used to further add slickness to BFWD?

Or is there some alternative to BFWD?

Or is there some other pre-cleaner, or polish taht can further increase the BFWD looks?

Welcome to TID speedz.

All the products you got there will do the job for you. If your looking for a cleaner type polish then Klasse AIO is a great one to use then follow up with the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. Doing your weekly washes you can use Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant to maintain that great slick finish that BFWD gives you. Any more questions you might have please be free to ask here on TID, and welcome.......... :wizard:

Thanks for the warm welcome zoomzoom. I live in INDIA and the harsh tropical weather coupled with the dust makes it hard to use nuba waxes.

Right now I am using KAIO topped up with BFWD. However i feel taht teh shine could be improved upon.. By saying this, I am not detracting anything from the BFWD performance. Just trying to find out if I could do better.

Will using BFWD Gloss enhancing polish be better than KAIO as the step prior to BFWD AFPP?

I agree with what Angelo said. The Blackfire Spray Sealant after your weekly washings adds to the durability and gets back that awesome shine and slickness that you love so much in the BFWD.

Thanks for your first post here!

In regards to this post, if you don't want to use a carnauba wax, then you are left with a sealant. I have used just about every sealant out there and have found Blackfire to best for my needs.

I love the deep, wet, 3D look it gives. But more importantly it is so user friendly, wipe on, wipe off, done. No fuss.

This isn't to say that there are not other sealants out there that perform great, but I perfer the package I get with Wet Diamond. As far as sealants go it wil be difficult to find one that is going to look better to most people's eyes, IMO.

The truth, as you alluded to, is that the overall look of the car is going to come down to the prep work prior to application. Since we already know you ahve a great looking sealant, what can we do before the sealant is applied to enhance the shine?

What color is your car and have you ever machine polished it? Are swirl marks visible in direct sunlight?

As I alluded to in my first reply, it is going to be hard to do better then Wet Diamond (in terms of looks) when compared to other sealants. This isn't to say that Wet Diamond is everybodies favorite or that people don't enjoy other sealants more, but it is doubtful you will notice a signifcant improvemnent visually just by switching to a different product.

The complete look of any wax, sealant, or hydrid protectant is going to be the condition of the paint underneath it. If the paint is swirl free, smooth, and highly reflective, then the sealant or wax is going to look that much better.

Will using BFWD Gloss enhancing polish be better than KAIO as the step prior to BFWD AFPP?

This depends on the condition of the paint itself. If the paint is swirl free, then both products will performe equally IME. However if the paint has more swirl marks, then BF Gloss Enhancing Polish is going to do more for the paint. This is because it it will help remove some (very light) swirl marks and fill in some as well. Also, as you can imagine, it is designed to prepare the surface to accept Blackfire Wet Diamond specifically.

I love BFWD... best sealant, and the only one I'll use. It's just a great product, never fails to impress and it offers excellent protection.

To "improve" it... hmmm:

Like Angelo said, you can use the BF Spray gloss between washes or after washing to bring back the gloss. That's a great idea.

Like Todd mentioned, and I'm totally with this idea:
The best way to improve anything that BFWD is going to do for your car is to start out with properly prepped (ie: polished) paint.
That would the single best thing you could do... get the paint right... swirl free, no scratches etc. by polishing it.

After polishing, wash the car, and then... this is what I do, but it's optional:
I go over the paint with a "cleaner" made by P21S called Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. This leaves your paint totally ready to accept the sealant or wax you may care to put over it. You'll notice your BFWD goes on the paint much easier, and thinner, after using the P21S product... I love this stuff!

Thanks a lot for the help guys. Decision taken.

Why spoil something thats already great? AM going in for more BFWD and adding some Gloss enhancing polish as well.

How bout a picture or two of your car when you get it done, would love to see it............Angelo........:wizard:
