Have a ceramic coating and want to touch up some rock chips.

I want to buy a drcolopchip kit, I applied a ceramic coating a couple months ago and weekly condition it with an SIo2 or bead maker every week. I know I know, I should have done this before but never really thought of it.
could I get away with an IPA rub over the rock chips and just go? or should I wait say another 6-12 months ?

Thanks

I`d wondered about this exact topic!

FWIW, I`d never expect IPA to prep anything for a touchup. Simply not an effective solvent for removing LSPs let alone that stuff. I don`t know how the whole "IPA strips wax/etc." thing got started, it`s *nothing* like any pre-paint prep solvent I`ve used. Just posted more about the rationale behind my position on the Meg`s Hybrid Ceramic thread..

Yeah if you used a true coating and not a spray on wipe off type off deal your gonna have to polish. I’m dr color chip’ing my car and talk to a rep of theirs and was recommended correct, polish, IPA/eraser and then dr color chip. The recommend waiting a week to then coat. I don’t want to wait that long before polishing/ coating. I wonder if after that week a waterless wash will suffice to clean before coating?

Thanks guys, yea it wasn`t a spray on, it was the ebay special quarts knock off, which from what I`ve seen lasts about 8 months to a year here in S.FL. I think I`m going to just wait it out.

So these don`t permeate/penetrate into the paint the way some silicones (apparently/supposedly) do? I remember some dire warnings from Menzerna about how such stuff can really wreak havoc...
