Hate to ask BUT has anyone used a Simoniz Cordless Polisher

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Simoniz Cordless polisher? I have a PC and a makita rotary that I have used for many years and this nice light no cord to get in the way machine might be just the thing for those areas where the cord always gets in the way. It claims to da at 2900 rpm which is a workable speed for polishing some things. Would be real usefully if you need to do some quick touch up at a car show. I know it is no rotary or PC but I think it may have a place and use in my cleaning equipment box. What your experience - hows it work and how long do the batteries last? Thanks in advance for any responses. MTS

i just bought a used one.

haven't used it yet though.

if it can get rid of the light swirls on my car, and apply remove wax, i should be happy with it.

I have and use a cordless drill with a "3M Professional Chip & Scratch Repair Kit", which consists of a 3" hook & loop bp, with 2 - 3" pads (one black, one orange). Picked the kit up at Wal-mart for $19.

I use it for the many tight spots and the occasional rid that I come across, without having to drag out all my stuff. I use it quite often at home with my corded drill that works great for the very, very tight spots. Actually paid only $19 for it when it was on sale. It's like having a super handy "mini" rotary, to work on my ....Mini. :rofl

Here's the drill I use:

I have one and used it a lot before I got the UDM. It works well with 4"ccs pads or 3.5" low profile pads. Obviously it's best for lsp application but if you've got patience don't count it out for swirl/oxidation removal. This was done with the cordless only:

Yeah, every day for 7 months--at first I was glad when the judge said community service:chuckle:No, it's a friend's car that I did 3 times last year--just wanted to get it looking a bit better each time. And by November the flowers are looking a little worse for wear up here!

The RPM drops significantly when any pressure is added, so it really isn't meant for defect removal. It can apply a wax, or even a cleaner, if you don't add pressure. The batteries last about 1/2 to 2/3's of a small car, so 2 batteries might do a coat of wax for a large(ish) car, but probably not last through a pre-wax application, and definitely wouldn't last through both a polishing and wax application.

that looks really good. thanks for the pics.

so the 2 foam pads that come with it, those are the polishing pads? and the 1 wool pad, that would be the waxing pad?
