I've been on my second bottle for a while now and I seem to be getting better results with regards to slickness. I QEW washed and NXT-ed an Alero (by PC) back on May 14th and have QEW washed it 2-3 times since then (I regularly clean his boss's cars, they pay for his to be washed occassionally) and when I washed it today, a full 5 months since I applied NXT, not only was it beading (and according to the owner, beading this past weekend when it rained) but the paint still felt reasonably slick. Not like a fresh application obviously, but the towel still glided over the paint and even against bare skin the paint had slickness. The car also looks really good still. I hadn't even realized it was 5 months since I'd applied NXT until I looked it up when I got home.
Bear in mind, this car is no garage queen and it may get run through the gas station car wash once a month and every other month (on average), I QEW wash it. I have used no QD on it either. He also drives to Oklahoma twice a month. At work, he has covered parking and it is garaged at home. The owner admits he is lax about keeping it clean, other than shoveling out his kid's stuff every few weeks. Believe me, if you had seen the carpets and all the hand prints on the windows, you'd understand what I mean.
I have a couple of other customer's cars who are at the 2-3 month point and I've noticed the same thing. It isn't that the first bottle was bad, no problems with 3 months of beading and good appearance but the slickness was gone in 3-4 weeks.
The only other change is that I started applying NXT by PC when I did the Alero. I don't see how that would have any effect on slickness or durability, only appearance.
Has anyone else noticed any variation between the first bottles that were out and new product? Could PC application make that much of a difference?
