Has anyone used wool with PC7424

You have a picture taken with a flash that shows the defects in the paint and then a picture (which doesn't appear to be the same panel) taken with no direct lighting and presumable after additional steps of polishing. Am I wrong?

yes you are wrong. Read the other posts. The camera sucked and chose when and when not to flash (it was not my camera..kodak POS). And help me understand why I would want to lie about this anyway? Yes it is the same panel. The pics are pretty clear on that with or without light. And no there no other steps performed in that pic. Yes I did finish with poly-seal but that pic came out in tungsten and it sucks and is not worth showing. Sorry to disturb you so. I wanted to help the OP. My bad.

I've *never* seen a slip on that is actually made of wool. You say it's possible and then post pictures that show absolutely nothing to support it. Sorry but in my experience the two are a bad combination.

I agree on both accounts, nothing he has said and shown prove anything.

Like I said I have no reason to lie. I am not trying to prove my abilities or my worth. It worked for me and I'll leave it at that.

I'm not accusing you of *trying* to hide anything at all. I'm saying that the photos don't represent the results plain and simple.

So you see the scratch in the 2nd photo? You don't need flash to see that. It came out. It worked. Get over it already.

You're right its not...because you can't seem to believe me for some reason. I'm not a wool bonnet rep, I'm not trying to sell them to anyone. I have nothing to gain here. You did acuse me of using multiple steps and using a different panel. "Am I wrong" So Magnum explain to me why I would do that? You guys ruined a good thread. I gave my input you took it down the dump. If you don't think wool on PC is a good idea tell the OP that instead of trying to figure out why I can do it and you can't. In the future try not to be argumentative in threads. If you have a problem with me come to me in PMs. You wasted space arguing with me over something you can't wrap your head around.

Ok gents... back off. You both need to walk away. SubyDude, you're new here, have a little respect for what's being said. If you don't agree, that's cool, but no one likes the tude.

SubyDude, I come from a science background and know that sometimes things can't be duplicated. I believe that for your particular situation the pad worked. I personally do not see a reason not to believe so.

I do think that in general a wool pad with PC is not a good idea. Doing an entire panel will most likely result in a lot of marring. This is what the OP needs to understand. It's all good :bigups

That is a perfect comment. I wish the others would have done that instead of bashing and doubting me.

Thanks.

Also the OP might want to search around. I found a few threads where others used certian wool pads on the PC with good results...and some that didn't.

I have a couple of slip on style wool bonnets. They are real wool, and they are meant to "bring out the final shine", i.e., they are meant to be used without any product on them, as a final buffing step, to bring out the shine in your wax. They work well for "spit shining" a carnauba LSP with cold water. You just have to be careful not to use too much water. They have absolutely no bite to them, and are as soft as the softest MF. The nap is about 2.5 inches long. Imagine an MF with a 2.5 inch nap!

LBLS1 is gonna shoot me for saying this, but Vintage does like to be spit shined. :)

I really can't see using these slip on wool bonnets for applying any kind of product, let alone attempting an abrasive polish with one, but if SubyDude got good results doing it, cool! :) Some of the best processes are found by people out there trying new things.
