Hardest non super sealant?

Accumulator's post has me wondering - what about topping FK1000 with collonite. FK1000P is my go to sealant for my car. It works very well. I get about 4 plus month - but then again I use FK425 to dry the car so FK425 might be adding to the protection.

I used to use FK1000 all the time. I would top my DG 105 with it actually. Great sealant.

Sure...FK sells a "Pink Wax" made just for this, for when people want a more "wax-like" look, so even they admit that the "paste sealant" look isn't for everybody.

I'd only do it if you thought the appearance diffs were highly significant and to your liking.

Note that FK1000P "dies cleanly" and you can often simply reapply with zero prep; sometimes I don't even bother claying (yeah, I know...that's Autopian Heresy but it works fine for me). With waxes, including Collinite pastes, things don't "die so cleanly" and you probably oughta do the usual Autopian prep stuff like at least claying.

BUT...I find FK1000P to last longer, protect better, and clean up really well for a longer time (Collinite also cleans up great, but not for as long). I'd sure want to feel the Collinite's appearance diffs were worth it, and FWIW to me they're not (even on dark paints). I only use Collinite on my '93 Audi because it's really-needs-repainted finish just isn't good enough for a hides-nothing type of sealant like the FK.
