I am interested in buying some mf towels. ARe the ones sold at CMA good. Will the definetly not scratch my car?

Which ones should i buy and how many do in need

I personally like YoSteve's Towels and Neatitems Towels the best.

If you are going to buy a MF from CMA, get one or two Big Blue drying towels...this is the best known towel to dry your car with (IMHO).

You can't ever have enough MF towels. I currently have about 40 and I was down to two today. :scared Did a wash though and supply is back up to full strength!

<strong class='bbc'>www.pakshak.com for MF Towels. It is a 70/30 blend. Pretty good stuff, I would have to say. [/b]</blockquote>

I had never heard of pakshak.com for MF towels before. How would you describe/compare their quality?

Thanks. :)

The pakshak look identical to my Blue CMA towels. But, the big thing to remember is that most MF's come from only a few places. The problem is that their QC varries so greatly that you might get a really awesome towel from XYZ one time, then a crummy towel from XYZ the next time...at least that's been my experience.

I have:

2 Big Blue drying towels from CMA

15 Viper Green towels

4 Magic Towels from CMA

4 Blue Towels from CMA

12 Griot's Towels (6ea: white/yellow)

Some of the Vipers scratch my CD's, while other's don't. The Magic towels are all decent as are the Blue ones. The Griot's...oh boy...some of them lint like crazy, some scratch, some absorb water, others don't - talk about inconsistent!

Anywho, I've got another 40? on order with Justin, so I should be set then...hehe, although 2 more Big Blue's would be nice...

I'm debating whether to get 5 MF Ultra Towels from yosteves for $38 or to get 2 Big Blue from CMA for $40. I wish yosteves sold larger towels.

BTW, are Big Blue's 80/20 or 70/30.

Thanks

www.pakshak.com today and they are good. They don't lint and are plush and come in 16"x16" size. I would say they are more plush then the Vipers but just a little less plush then the Magic Towels. Can't go wrong for the price. I like their website too. It also helps that they are in the same state...hehe A friend of mine picked it up for me. I talked to the guy from pakshak.com and he referred me to the Autopia forum to get helpful hints with detailing. I forgot his name but he was very helpful. He owns a 2000 Honda CR-V which is in great shape. Check out the pics of the CR-V at www.pakshak.com. Pretty nice for a silver color. All I know is that he said he learned the proper way of detailing a car by reading the posts here on this forum.

I'm glad he pointed me here. I now know where I will be lurking around for some time.

Peace

:D

is there really a discount for autopian members? i havent bought anything form CMA for a long time so i might have missed it?

are the Blue Towels from CMA better than the green "Detailing MF towells" for removing wax/polish? what about for buffing out a QD?

I just got 10 12x12 terry MFs from neatitems.com for $34.50. Did the big spring detail yesterday and used them to wash, buff etc. They did a great job! Haven’t used that many different kinds of MFs but I like these the best by for sure. Great price too.

I'm with you on that one. I've got the 15" x15" and for the money (free shipping too!), I'd say they are the best MF towels you can get....although pakshak sounds promising.

I'm just waiting for the next heroic and altruistic Autopian to do a group buy. ;)

The Big Blue towel from CMA is 80/20.

As for your first dilemma, wouldn't that all depend on what you wanted to use the towels for?

You make a good point on the dilemma. However, I think I'm going to get the towels from Neatitems since the CMA and yosteves towels are 80/20.

I've heard from several sources that the 70/30 towels are far less likely to scratch/swirl the paint, and since I own a black Porsche, I'm not taking any chances.

I'm also deciding to get some neatitems MF cloths. I suppose the one to get is the Terry Cloths and not the Suede Cloths right? Any idea what can I use the Suede Cloths for, interiors? Or the regular terry ones will do?

Thanks!! :)

Not that long ago I had placed an order with Neatitems. Included (for free) with my order was a suede microfiber cloth. I looked at it for a while, unsure of what to do with it.

After some thought I decided to use it for the application of 303 on both the Vette and daily driver interior....I've never picked up another towel to apply 303 since. The suede towel worked out excellent; it is far thinner than the "regular" microfiber and is ultra soft. It's thinness makes it very easy to use on the interior where you may have tight areas to try and get to. It leaves behind a nice, even finish with the 303.

The next time I order from Neatitems I will be ordering a few more of the suede towels. If you are going to place an order anyway, my advice is to go ahaed and order 1 to see if you like it.

Just wanted to share my experience. :)
