Happy Birthday Baby

Happy Birthday baby

I'm the orginal owner of this 1985 4000S (baby) Quattro, I even imported it myself back in back in the day of grey market cars. It was (is) US legal version so consequently all I had to do was take the Fahrzeugbrief to DMV and they gave me a NJ title and registration. I then went to port Newark, thru customs, got her released and put on plates. She has been somewhat of a garage queen but does have 70k on the odometer. In the last few years she was a bit neglected and the Alpine white was some what frosty in appearance. Well last November I promised her I would have her cleaned up for her birthday and started working on her a few hours a day or as often as I could. Iâ€â„¢ve probably put about 80 hours into the job and am very happy. During that time I bought my pc and the rest is history. When I looked at my paperwork I saw that I picked her up on 4/12/85. So happy birthday baby, its been fun. Iâ€â„¢ve put Boston Acoustic rear speakers and a factory trip computer (from salvage yard, when she was 14 yrs old). Sorry no before pictures except the 1985 ones, I got digital camera for Christmas.

Very nice.

Pretty cool that you've had her for 20 years and she still looks like she does. Was she a daily driver when you got her or just a 'special occaison' car?

I've gotta ask, are you still sporting the '85 chic?

85 chic? ROFLMAO Aw come on. It was a Easter Monday morning, my buddy and I snuck out from work, drove up to the port, hence the tie. I don't have the bells anymore. Actually I'm exactly 20 years older and grayer.

She got used in nice weather and some snow. Never hit or scratched.

The old blue NJ license plates! Not many around. I have a small collection in my tool room!

Very nice car; unique, great condition. A nice piece of Audi history.

Reminds me of my 86 Saab 9000S. Quirky, idiosyncratic, requiring a special relationship.

Can we see the Porsche 72 911E Targa??!!

No, no, no, no, ok

Okay, I uncovered her and she is a bit dusty but she is pretty nice. She is my next project with pc. Bought Emily in 72 and never let her go. Donâ€â„¢t tell anybody I took pictures of her in the garage. 50k miles, lots of autocrosses and drivers education at Limerock. Won Porsche autocross championship with her in 73 and 74 in NNJR.

nice porsche...my dad owned three similar porsches but unfortunately sold them when he had us 3 kids haha

why are the wheels different colours though?

Man, that's *another* great car. A big :xyxthumbs for not letting them go over the years.

Oh, and I'm impressed with the auto-X successes too.

Wow, that is amazing for 20 years old. I thought my Integra looked good at almost 10 years, but damn...I have a lot more time to go to take recognition for that :lol

Enjoy the car, looks amazing!

Man I won't be able to get my hat on tomorrow. With Accumulator and GSRstilez (Sean) admiring my work I can feel my head swelling now.

Here is another oldie. The 72 911E Targa at the Pocono, Pa Porsche Parade 1974

Great job on the exterior and the interior. I'd like to see the hood lifted and the engine detailed. Is that the next project? BTW what's with the assault rifle hanging on the wall in the garage next to the Porche?

Hey baron it's only a *daisy* on the wall. I had squirrels in the attic and living room last year and had to "sweet talk" them out of the house. They fell down the chimmney and came thru the attic fan. Then I saw this invention

and it makes me smile everytime I watch it. I have a few tall pines in the back yard and this is easy to visualize.

Audi engine detail is in process, I had to replace a leaky valve cover gasket first then started the detail. It really isn't bad except for some reason that engine compartment gets dirtier than most.

Pete,

The Audi looks great and so does the Porche. Actually the Porche looks as if you already completed the detailing. Based upon the DMSP Longevity Study may I suggest placing both vehicles in a GN2 Purge Bag upon completion of Detailing Effort to preserve the vehicles.
