Hand Polish, What's The Best?

MBZ 500E,

Check out the einszett website for further descriptions on Metallic and Paint Polish.,www.1z-usa.com.

I've used the 1ZMP on my silver Passat by hand and it leaves awesome gloss, for compounding trouble areas (parents cat on hood during visits) I use Menzerna IP with a PC.

Macgirl thank you for the link, I've read it and have come to the conclusion that I'd prefer the Paint Polish over the Metallic. Seems the metallic only fills the swirls while the Paint Polish actually reduces/removes them.

The only drawback I see with the Einzett is that the website states it will add a great deal of shine. I'm not a big fan of shine, I prefer depth and gloss. Is this statement true? Einzett also adds a protective barrier, will this make it difficult to top? For those of you that have used and suggested the Einzett can you better describe it's capabilities and results? Can you also include products you've topped over the Einzett? I like details so please don't hold back. :D ;)

MBZ 500E,

I agree, if you want a more aggressive polish go w/ the Paint Polish. I use the 1ZMP as mainly a cleaner/polish to enhance gloss, and yes, I would describe the look as "wet & glossy" not shiny, especially on silver. As for the "protective barrier," I can only assume that it could be from the silicone in the polish so you should be able top it with any thing except a sealant like Zaino. I've topped it w/ #26, 1Z Glanz Wax and S100 with no problems.

I've used Meg's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner and Swirl Remover 2.0, plus 3M Fine-Cut Rubbing Compound and the 1Z polish was by far the easiest to work with by hand.

The Metallic will remove light swirls not just fill them, but it is a light cleaner/polish and won't do much for an older finish.

Thank you Macgirl, those are the comments I was looking for. I'm placing an order for the Einzett PP so I'll also add my feedback and pics in the coming weeks.

Thanks again everyone.

So how did the PP work for you?

I'm very happy with the results actually. I posted a review of the product in the reviews section which should help give a better idea in various categories.

The product left a beatiful hard shine and did remove very minor swirl marks. It is more agressive than a product like SEPC which is why some minor swirls were removed. It was also very easy to use and except for the smell I liked everything about the product. I've since used it as an in between step from DACP to LSP, it removed the DACP haze and left the desired finish ready for my LSP. I also haven't had any problems applying other products on top of it including NXT, S100, Souveran and Gold Class. Overall I give it a :up

DACP has never left a haze on any of the vehicles I have done. It has trade secret polishes that eliminate the hazing. Maybe scottwax will chime in and back this up. He has also stated this somewhere.

teamvegas my problem was I used waayyyy too much product. I realize this now after talking to Mike Phillips about it. No big deal really, it gave me the results I was looking for but it required a step between it.

Besides it never hurts to have a less abrasive product to use between DACP and your wax. I'm eventually also going to try Meguiars Hand Polish to see how it compares to 1ZPP.

JGV when comparing 1ZPP and 1ZMP and Megs Hand Polish, all being applied by hand with yellow foam applicator you're saying the Megs will be equivalent to 1ZMP? Which is easier to apply by hand and how would you compare the results.

I'm assuming when you say 1ZPP is nearly as abrasive as DACP that both were applied with a PC and Polishing Pad? I should add that when I used DACP I applied it with a PC on speed setting 5 with a Megs Yellow Polish Pad. I've never used 1ZPP with a PC and I'm not sure how abrasive it is using a PC. Would probably help if I stopped borrowing my neighbors PC and just bought my own.:o

Yeah, all that you said ;)

IMHO, it's better to keep in one proccess, either DACP, SFP, hand polish, wax or PP, MP, wax, etc.

I think you are talking about one grand omega glaze. It's real mild, kind of like 3M Imperial hand glaze. Not too many people using it any more.

True, which is a shame. It is a good product but it is not talked about to often.
