Hi guys, haven't posted here in a while, but I need your adivce on something...



My Mercedes C Class got keyed the other day, long scratch from the back passanger door and the driver door as well... :mad:



Its a dark blue car, i've gotten an estimate for the paint work and repair, they need to do both doors from the door list (?) and up...



The thing that I wanted to ask you is how long should I wait and let the new paint "heal" before waxing, cleaning, detailing etc..etc?



Any responses greatly appreciated!..
 
Thanks Brad... will do... i plan on doing the whole car after the paint job, but leaving the 2 painted doors to "heal"...
 
C'MON - they do that in ICELAND?!



I thought that only New York residents were lucky enough to have unwanted paint customization done to our vehicles.



Sorry to hear it - and wish it wasn't the case that jealous people could have access to our vehicles.

A friend of mine has the same problem with his 01 VW Jetta. Luckily it wasn't to far into the clear.:eek:



Also get one of these to prevent future attacks....
 
You can polish all you want while runnning down the clock. Just be sure your product contains no wax or sealer. Body shops use a 3M product to provide some protection while the transports evoporate out of the paint.
 
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! This truck came to us from peterbilt to test our limits. It was a trade in from an old Logging company.

This write-up is gonna be a little different write up, Detailing these bigO' nasty things can get pretty dirty. I was gonna call my buddy Mike Rowe to come do a show of dirty jobs with us, but we decided not to.

Anyways there are gonna be more pics then words so here it goes

The Truck comes to us from the Peterbilt Senior Sales Manager saying "Here ya go, this is gonna test your limits" and it looks like this

Then after a good thurough washin and we flashed all the aluminum with acid to soften it up and get it to get it ready for the buff and polish! and it came out like this

Having 2 of our employees buffing and polishing all the aluminum with pnumatic rotary buffer @4000rpm and heavy duty compound with 8in 4ply wool pads, followed by a hand polish to a mirror finish. It usually takes about 16 hours to complete a full detail, along with the aluminum getting polished we also detail the inside and buff and wax the cab and Remove Lettering. Here are the final shots

I've done hundreds of big trucks and honestly they are some of my favs to do! Except i have an extreme fear of ladders and heights :out: but these dont bother me. Great work though! I miss working on trucks!
 
Do you and your team do the tank and wheel polishing on the truck or do you remove all those parts for the polishing steps on them? Very nice work by the way!! That looks beautiful!!
