Halo's

Hi there guys, been reading with interest a lot of the posts on Autopia.



I have some halo's on my Imola Red BMW as shown in the attached picture.



Currently I have a PC and the Meguiars range available: ScratchX, and the 3 step consumer product range.



Do you think that the above products used with a PC will be sufficient to remove these halos?

ScratchX is for 'Scratches'. There are swirl removers for the kind of swirls that you have. Check on Meguiars.com and find a local distributor. Then you can pick up something more apropriate for the job like #80 or #83.
 
Is either 80 or 83 equivalent to Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner which is one of the consumer products that I have?



If it is not, would you still suggest that I buy some 80 or 83, or would you recommend something else which could be superior?

Deep Crystal paint cleaner is just a paint cleaner. Deep Crystal paint polish is a polish. Niether will really make much noticeable difference.



I'd suggest looking around the Click+Brag section, and seeing the different polishes used by alot of the guys here. There are so many, reccomending just one would make your job harder when someone else reccomends another.



And here I was thinking you were going to add halo headlights to your car.

The Deep Crystal products are nonabrasive, unlike the #80 and #83. I'd get the #80, it's a good, useful product and might be just what you need.
 
Scratch X is close to #80, but it gums up when used with a PC as it is intended for hand use. You could still try it though, but clean your pad often to stop the gumming up. You might be better off finding #80 at a body shop supply store. If you want something at your local Pepboys then get Mothers Power Polish as it close to these products.
