Had my first no-show today

Doctors, therapists, car dealerships (not quite the same I know). I see your point though.

I know with my dentist if I no-show I get charged for a cleaning unless I cancel 24 hours in advance - no exceptions. I don't have a problem with that because time is money and people are far too often playing fast and loose with everyone else's time these days. The problem is a basic lack of respect for other people. I find that most people are so wrapped up in their own life that they fail to recognize that other people are important too. It takes a long time to get to learn that in life an luckily I learned it early.

i see it this way. If someone doesnt want to pay 25 upfront.. not in addition to but 25 upfront then that is saying that person is not sure about really getting the car detailed. I want customers that show up to the details. I am not hurt if they leave because of a downpayement.

Well guess what. That guy stopped by last weekend to make another appointment for this morning. He said he'd be here at 8:00AM on Saturday. So what happens? The stupid b***ard didn't show up again. I brought all this s**t 100 miles again, and I didn't use most of it. I did some stuff on my car, but the majority of the stuff was to be used on the Bravada. Unbelieveable.

At 8:05, I was getting skeptical, and decided to just polish my engine some more while I waited. I did that until 8:30, when I pulled my car in the driveway and washed it. Then I had to clean the floormats on the red Protege that I've been detailing for the last few weeks (~8hrs the first day, a few hrs last weekend, and a few more today. (He overfilled his gas tank yesterday and spilled gas on his car  )). He'd be wasting his time setting up another appointment with me. I'll be a real *** back at him. I'll tell him to take his car back to the car wash place where he got it waxed last time.

I can't believe people can be such a**holes.

No I don't have his phone #. He had my number.

He has a heavy Spanish accent, so I don't think I'd be able to understand him well over the phone anyway.

It's over with now...I'm not setting anything up with this guy in the future. I am seriously considering the down payment idea though.

Your fault no questions about it. We ALWAYS <--(did you get that? ALWAYS) Call a day OR TWO before the appointment to confirm. When we are making the appointment they are told that they will be contacted 24-48 hours before the appointment to confirm it. I tell them if you don’t hear from us make sure you call US to confirm. I tell them that to eliminate the "I DIDNT GET YOUR MESSAGE ANSWER, if I have to leave a message on a mchine or voice mail) ) If we don't get confirmation we will schedule somebody else for that time.

Also, when you make the appointment you must get their contact info- home phone, cel phone, work phone, email.

So far our system works like a charm!!!
