:angry so apparently some idiot spit his gum out out and i carried it onto my carpet in my shoe.. its not in the floor mat either its in the actual carpet.. :angry :angry grrr how can i get this out without buying 10 things

I've used a "dry cleaning" solvent on gum. It disolves the gum (need to apply it repeatedly). One that comes to mind is NAPA's Body Pro solvent.

***It will dry out your hands, though, so if you have sensitive hands or the SO dislikes you having dry hands, you may want to wear rubber gloves.***

I second the use of ice and a butter knife of scraper, followed by a thorough vacuuming of the carpet.

What if you get gum on leather seats (leather seats with factory pores)? I managed to use leather cleaning wipes to get the gum off but there is still some left in the pores.

The idea is to freeze the gum so it breaks off the carpet rather than just talking off the big clump, but leaving the goo.

It's one of those things you always here about for gum getting stuck it someones hair.

Top of the Line carries a product by ChemSpec called Liqui-Gel. It pretty much melts the gum so it can be removed. This product also works pretty good on grease in carpets.
