Gtechniq, more than a little confused

The Exo is my current favorite. I really only tried the Gyeon on Mikes recommendation. Exo is great as a stand alone. If you shot me a pm with an email I send you pics after 12 months. My Photobucket is messed up

I almost bought some Gtechniq early on. The names were just a little too confusing to me. I couldn't keep up with what was what. I also don't want to top my coating with EXO to get the results I desire. I am sure they are great products, but I prefer others.

How did you like the gyeon? I think I'm going to try it next.

The whole notion of topping coatings with other coatings is nuts imo. If a single application of any coating won't last me at least two years I'm not wasting my time or money on it.

Awesome question we run tons of tests real world as well as in weathering facilities, so we can best estimate a coating longevity. But in all fairness to all coatings it all comes down to how they are treated! As far as topping it is not necessary with our products. If you are looking for hardness Crystal Serum Light as a standalone is the hardest. If you want crazy slickness and hydrophobic properties EXO is your best bet. Now it you want that hardness and you want the most longevity Crystal Serum Light topped with EXO would be best of both worlds. This would give you a 18-24 month sacrificial coating on top of your 3-5 year base coat. It all depends on what you are looking for, and IMO opinion our line is second to none in ease of application and durability.

Where are you from?

I appreciate the information. I really don't have a problem topping my coating. It seems to be the rule instead of the exception for coating manufacturers. I always top my coatings with something, but that is for my own personal pleasure. I now have to decide if I need a coating to last that long. Three years is usually the max I keep a car.

Can you apply CSL to rims or headlights?

Instructions for CSL say to not expose the car to the elements for 12 hours.
What would happen if you take it out sooner?
Can it cure sooner than 12 hours with UV?

Pictures don`t do that car justice. I remember asking the owner and i think it was HOK Kandy Apple red with a gold flake base coat? So in direct sunlight you would barely notice gold flakes. In person it looked awesome with the GTechniq stuff on it.
Of course it doesn`t hurt that the car was painted w House of Kolor urethane. It`s $300 a gallon for a reason.

Iam a big fan of CSL. For a single coat application it offers great protection, ease of application and pretty good slickness. I just tested out CSL Exo V3 combo and the gloss hydrophobics and slickness definitely increased.

I have also tried c1 and c1 topped with EXO. For paint I really like the CSL and CSL Exo V3 combo.

About a year ago, at the time of installing an Xpel paint protection film on a CX5 installer introduced me to the GT products by installing CSL. Since then i have seen the value in their products in keeping this daily driver in pristine conditions. Since, I`ve used the C4 on trim and C5 on rims...as stated...products are easy to use and produce great results (follow the prep directions though) just last week (after a year) i topped off car with their new v3 of Exo...holly bat man, what great results. Have also applied this combo on a new Miata with great results as well. To treat with all their products could get pricey yet its what I`m to spend for good results. My only worry is on the maintenance of these coatings...i get confused on what their QD and C2 or similar Quick detailers does? I`ve read if you use these products then you have the protection and properties of QD/C2 product on top and not the EXO...yet i need a product that will not undermine the EXO but maintain or enhance it when you just want to remove some light dust or fingerprints etc...when a wash isn`t necessary warranted? Then i also worry, that unless i use the GT wash, any other soap will undetmine the properties of the CSL/EXO....maybe I`m overthinking it but would love feedback Andy...thanks
