GSRstilez's Summer Modification Wrap-Up

Well, summer is over for me...Back to school and back to work. I figured I'd take a few pics and wrap-up what I did this summer, modification wise.

We'll start with the most obvious modification...my rims. They used to be gunmetal with a polished lip, but it wasn't enough after a while. I contemplated many colors as well as selling them, but with the help of my girlfriend, decided to match the spokes to the rest of the car (Cinnabar Red) and leave the lips polished. They came out amazing IMO and I get double takes all the time. I feel I did it in a "non-ricey" way :) . Also what you see in this pic is my painted calipers. They used to be red to somewhat match my paint and offset the gunmetal, but I felt by painting them silver they'd bring out the lip more. Everything flows pretty cleanly now.

Next is the front end. I had it painted about a month after the car was repainted (last August) because it wasn't bonding properly and chipped off a bit. After that it was all good until it got hit at my mechanics shop this summer. He paid for it and I brought it to my body shop, he sanded it and repainted it. So the paint is about a week old (just #80 on it). While there, I also had him cut out the ugly license plate hardware built into the bumper (which was painted red). It gives a nice clean look now of the bumper, with a clean bar across the center and my license plate hiding, but still visible, behind it. Also, while the bumper was off I wanted to do some touch-ups. Around the license plate, I painted everything flat black to take attention away from anything but the plate. On top of this I wetsanded with 1500, then 2000 grit papers, my headlights and blinkers. Following that, I polished them out with DACP and protected with EX-P.

Lastly, the tail end. I used to have red/smoke tinted tails that emitted less light and had no true reverse light. I tried to sand them down and repaint (due to clearcoat failure), but they came out too dark. Luckily, I had re-finished the stock taillights over the winter with 1500 grit papers, mother's aluminum polish, Klasse AIO/SG. They were very glossy and in perfect shape, so I slapped them on. And the ONLY yellow accent that will ever be on my car is the "Support Our Troops" magnetic ribbon. I went against all Autopian standards on this one and actually put such a thing on my car. I stand completely against Bush's decision to send troops over, but support the ones over there for having to do such a thing.

On the paint is Poorboy's EX x 3, Poorboy's Natty's x 2, touch-ups with S+W and Gliptone's Carnauba Body Gloss. BnB on the tires.

Enjoy!

Your Integra is GORGEOUS!!!:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs One of the very few TASTEFULLY modified imports I've seen. No decals or mile high spoiler...just clean and elegant lines. The rims are BEAUTIFUL and I'm glad you changed the caliper paint to offset them...very classy. I'm also extremely pleased with the yellow ribbon...Autopian or not...that is the right thing to do.

That said.....

This statement is pure garbage:

"I stand completely against Bush's decision to send troops over, but support the ones over there for having to do such a thing."

Those troops are over there to liberate a country that had been ruled since the 70's by an insane dictator. He thought nothing of murdering his own people by the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS (that's 5 zeros). He was actively looking to upgrade his arsenal to nuclear status and had chemical and biological weapons (if you don't think he did just ask the Kurds) that most certainly would have been sold to the highest terrorist, anti-American bidder. Which means that he was a DIRECT THREAT to the security of this nation. On top of all that...he was in violation of the armistice which ended the 1991 Gulf War (how many times were our planes illuminated by radar and fired upon in the established no-fly zones)...giving us complete authority to KICK HIS ***. I'm glad you support our troops...that is noble...but the reason they are over there is noble as well. Today...Iraq is FREE.

Flame on.... :argue

Besides that...your car seriously is BEAUTIFUL and detailed to the nines!!:up

Your car looks awesome! It's gotta be one of the best looking red cars I've ever seen. :xyxthumbs

I like your wheel setup, they really enhance the overall look of the car. Do you get any rubbing? Looks like there's barely any clearance up front.

:up You did the right thing! They'd be too much if they were still red. Nice work. Any underhood modifications this summer?

IMO your car's lines flow very very nicely. I like the exhaust you put on there too, no giant fart cannon :)

Now all you gotta do is keep that awesome paint looking wet as usual

I really like the Cinnibar Red color you have on that sweet Integra. And with the EX and Nattys on there it makes the paint look even wetter. I also like how you painted your calipers. Your whole car looks great!

The car looks amazing Sean! Very wet looking! I do have to side with 1 Clean WS6 when it comes to Iraq though, and we will leave it at that.

Have you settled with your current combo or are you still thinking about going the FMJ route?

Hey, where's the primered body kit? :D j/k

Clean, tasteful, gorgeous. This is the first time I've seen a modified Integra which actually looks great.

Keep up the good work!

you have one nice integra, nice stance, looks, rims, mods. i guess it helps your paint is really nice too. :D but i like it a lot. if anything, bigger front brake rotors would be sweet but do cost some bucks!

and i for one agree with your stance against our president sending our troops to Iraq. there's a million reasons why i also agree they shouldn't be there, but i'm not here to discuss politics, just polishes, waxes, and sealants. :D

I'll never get tired of looking at that Integra. How you get those plastic bumpers so shiny is beyond me. Have fun back in school. Are you in college?

great car man

my car willl be outa the shop on monday so im ready for a detail when you are

meanwhile..where did you get your wheels done?

locally

i sent mine to dallas to get powdercoated black and polished lip and UPS lost 1 outa 4 on the way back

well they finally found it a month later but after i already bought a new one!

anyway...let me know where you did the rims and when your ready for a detail

<--------- Blown away by everyone’s kind words :)

First off, as far as the political thing goes. I just stated my reasons, based on the information I am aware of. I am leaving it at that. This exact post already turned a little sour over at Team-Integra by turning into a political bashing. In the end, I support the troops.

Ebpcivicsi: Spoon Sports N1

1 Clean WS6: Thank you very much for your extremely kind words. I tried to stay as far away from a rice-wagon as possible. I just stuck with a monochromatic paint scheme, with nothing but the black windows and tires/ polished rim lips, exhaust, and rear lower tie bar to set it off. I am also very happy about the caliper job.

Your political comment through me a little back, but each is entitled to his opinion. That’s what makes this world beautiful :) . Like I said above, in the end, I support the troops.

Tkr128: Thank you…I take great pride in my work and since I am mobile, that car is my business card :D.

I have my front and rear fenders rolled, but yes, before I had plenty of rubbing.

Cam: Just some maintenance. I plan eventually on doing adjustable shocks and completing the exhaust with a 2.5 Mandrel Bent B-Pipe, but other than that, just detailing :)

SilverLexus: Thanks for the kind compliment :up

Scott: I’d say in probably 3 weeks, I will break down and clay (WG), polish out, protect with all Menzerna. Then over Thanksgiving Break, it’s back to Klasse for the winter.

Hirosh: I wish on the big brake kit. The one’s I have now stop quite nicely and for what I do, they are more than sufficient.

GS-R Jay: Just treat it like the rest of the car, but I find plastic bumpers to have thinner paint, so be careful.

Navindra: Back at college now. I will be back 1-2 weekends a month to fit in 3+ details at a time for customers. I have a Progress Camber Kit all the way around. Had it for over 2 years with no problems.

Havabooz: Sounds good to me. I had them done by my bodyshop. They were painted, not powdercoated. I will be in contact soon about the detail. Thanks.

Once again, thanks all!!!

yah, the big brake kits run in the thousands. but it's cool, as long as they can stop you well, that's all that matters. :xyxthumbs

sometimes function has to come before looks, especially when the looks comes with a high price tag.

but i love looking at your integra. kinda makes me wish i had the money to buy one and fix it up a little. of course, it would probably get stolen. hawaii loves hondas and acuras, and they are probably the most stolen vehicles here.

I love your teg, we are somewhat twins, same skirts but I have an itr wing and lip. I'll post pics of it sometime :) My main question for you is how did you not burn your rear lip??? I used to have that lip, but my apexi n1 demolished it in around a day and it was damaged beyond repair. Any tips for a fellow tegger? :)

Car looks absolutely beautiful, the rims look like they were done by a pro :xyxthumbs

There are 2 adjustments for the exhaust height if you get under there and look. I use the lower one with the kit and the higher one with stock trim (for winter). It is a bit melted, but not bad at all. Also, my exhaust tip is much smaller than an Apex'i N1.

The rims...were done by my body shop, so yeh a pro :D

Thanks for the compliment, would love to see ur teg.
