Hey Everyone...

Well, I have been working on it on and off for the past two weeks and its finally where I want it...

I'm talking about my detailing business' website. The link is below. Please give me your honest opinion and provide constructive criticism.

The name is preliminary. I wanted something catchy that would relate to the service provided. I also wanted my name in there to be unique and since I have not registered this business with the state (yet), I need something with my name in it for legal reasons.

S.U.D.S. - Sean's Unlimited Detailing Service

Please let me know. Thanks!

PS: Anthony (Jngrbrdman)...I know the quote on top is very close to your famous one. Although not exactly the same, please let me know if you would like your name to be quoted next to it. I would be glad to do it. :)

Looks pretty good. I'd do all the pictures as thumbnails though so the pages load faster for people on dial up. I've done that now for most of the pics on my site at www.scottwax.com (which is in the process of being updated slowly).

I'd change the "United" in your name to "Ultimate", but honestly, a shorter business name would be better. Take it from me, most customers would prefer to write something less than "Scott's Mobile Auto Detailing".

A future suggestion is to try and get the same angle of the vehicle for the before and after pictures so they are more comparible (like you did with the Yukon).

Other than that, it is easy to navigate and you've broken down what you do in a way that those who know little about detailing will understand what you will be doing.

Scott: Thanks for the critiques. Currently in my area, cable modems are HUUUGE. I don't know anyone who still dials up. I will leave that for now, but point well taken.

It's gonna stay Unlimited for now because after reviewing my marketing notes from business class, "Select a name that can be used on several product lines of a similar nature (allows for product line extensions)." Being unlimited allows the business to range to other service offerings in the future.

I have noticed through this site before and after shots are so key. I now try to do them as close to the angle as possible as well as lighting.

Thanks again for the help.

Overall, I tried to make it simple, clean, and effective.

"A perfect detail is through a process, not just a product"

Thorough, not through.

Really? I think through (throoo) is fine for this application.

Or maybe "A perfect detail is a thorough process, not just a product?"

You could always drop the through. "The perfect detail is a process and not just a product." Actually, the way you have it I am almost sure you would use a semi colon instead of a comma. That line is probably the number one thing I have learned from Autopia. Its not so much a quote from me as it is the bottom line of an Autopian education. :bigups Preach on, my brotha!

The rear wheel well on the Yukon looks just a dirty in the after picture as it did in the before. I understand that even if you had scrubbed them clean, they can still look bad in a picture. It just really stands out against the shiny black. Maybe if you changed the angle of your pictures so that wheel wells aren't as noticeable. Have you considered using some dressing in the wheel wells?

HellrotCi: I see what you're saying. After reviewing the pic again... The wheel is polished aluminum, not chrome. It's actually very clean. I polished it, and threw a coat of S100 on. The whell wells are dressed, but the part that looks dirty is actually more or less grayish plastic. I made sure I dressed them because if I didn't it would look like a sore thumb...

Should I have used these two pics for before and after?

I think the only reason I didn't use those two was because of the reflections. I was kinda far away from the house and at a bad angle for reflections in these pics. The ones on my page really show how the white house reflects off.

But what does everyone think...change em with these?

A couple small things. I assume your mobile. You should add that, because that's a big plus in people's eyes. Also you should mention your location or servicing area. In your sig it says your from CT, but the 516 area code tells me your from Nassau NY, not that people will ever see your sig but its good to let people know your location. Also if someone comes across your page on the web it will tell them where you are located too. Instead of having a line saying links I would maybe just post the links with bullet points in front of them. I think it would look a little more thought out and proffessional that way. Maybe use something like bubbles(Suds) for bullet points. Just a thought. All in all it looks good. Good luck with your ventures.

neoflex: Good Points! I go to college in CT during the year but still do business here and back on Long Island from May til the end of August. I will definately say I'm mobile too. Jngrbrdman and I are working on a web banner with bubbles and stuff. Thanks for the pointers!

Your site looks very good just the way it is! After all, you're the one who's smart enough to take a marketing class. Hey, you probably know a lot more about marketing than most detailers.

Just my honest opinion...

Took marketing in high school and in college. Continued writing marketing and action plans as a restaurant manager.

Guess you don't know everything about us yet, eh?
