GSRstilez's 100,000 mile photoshoot

Looks awesome, Sean!!!:bigups

Geez, I would buy that car in a second if I had some spare $$ lying around.:)

Were there some fitment issues with the front fascia?? J/C

Drew: A little bit. The bumper on it is not OE (my mistake), but my body shop made it work. It is slightly damaged and will most likely be sprayed before the sale.

shumax: Honda's are known for poor cooling systems. When my radiator went at 60k, I opted for a $450 Fluidyne replacement. It's a dual core all aluminum radiator and does the job well :). The water pump job was just done as was a tune up. The brakes have over 60% left and the whole system is high performance. Tires are at about 85% left. I am having an axle replaced this weekend (tore the rubber boot) as well as having a new catalytic converter put on. Other than that, you can't find much wrong with it.

I ask b/c my sister has a red 2000 GSR with about 55k on it. I just did brake pads (OEM), bled the brake system and replaced all fluid, flushed the power steering fluid, oil change, etc. That was after I spent nearly 7 hours detailing it.

It's always been a hot little car. Just wondered what you had go wrong in 100k. Doesn't sound like too much.

My wife has a 2004 Accord EX-L V6. I'll have to keep an eye on the coolant system----didn't know that about Hondas.

Take care-

Shumax

100K thats all, you'll get another 100k out of it. Looks amazing, between the paint and the style. Nice to see not all foreign car owners are ricers. I am at 95k in my TA and am not wanting to hit that 100k mark because I know stuff will start going wrong, damn GM. It will give me an excuse to do a full rebuild and stroke it. ;)

I've had my share of Honda's and the only one to have any cooling issues at all is my '95 Legend. For some reason the top tank on the radiator will get a small fracture in it that allows a little air to seep into the cooling system. Honda's with "B" series engines are a little more problematic than that but all those that I have had contact with didn't have any cooling problems until they went overboard with go fast mods.

SpoiledMan: Yep, once I put on an aftermarket Spoon Radiator Cap, the pressure became too much. The bottom formed a hairline crack. I limped it home on a 90*+ day while steam was coming from the bay. I never did overheat that gawd. The Fluidyne has been great since. I just done like that it's uncoated aluminum (prone to staining).

km's ? you in my land of the Great White North ? is your car canadian to have kilmetres ? i thought it would read "miles" ?

Wow Sean I just love your Teg, it always looks awesome :xyxthumbs

I would love to drive one now that I see they don't redline till 8k rpms :D

100k isn't even that much for a 96. Considering its a 10 year old car if you multipy that by the standard 12k a year rule thats 120k, so your 20k under average. Regardless it looks great and i'm sure its mechnically sound. It truly will be a sad day when you sell it.

btw what do you plan on replacing it with? I remember you saying you were looking at MDXs or FXs, but that was a year ago, and I surely know how things change :lol

wow 100K miles. congrats. then again, i'm sure you take very good care of your car, mechanically and paint-wise. :xyxthumbs

Johnny: This week I like the new Subaru Legacy GT's. Just like Jngrbrdman. Turbo, AWD, stick, plush, etc. I really like it, great deal too!

kb: I have to exit EVERY driveway of sort at an extreme angle. Speed bumps I sometimes 'graze' with the heatshields from my exhaust. Nothing that bad though, surprisingly, knock on wood.

Congrats! I went throught the exact same thing last week. 100k miles is something I never wanted see on my Z, but life has continued on. Needs a few things to get back into very good shape (shocks, tune-up, etc.).

This week I gave it Adam's Butter Wax, Adam's Detail Spray, and Adam's VRT.
