BlackSunshine- Glad to hear you still like the SpeedShine and Interior Cleaner (me too), and a little surprised to hear you still like the BOS (not me too). Gotta try that Long-lasting Tire Dressing if/when I finally run out of Z16.

Never tried the spray version of their leather conditioner...what's it like?

It's not so much that I still like the BOS, it's that I finally like the BOS as I learned how to use it. It's certainly no Souveran, or even a Meg's #26 in terms of ease of use, but I think it's a, well, neat, wax to use as something different.

The Long Lasting Dressing is nice because it allows you to choose your finish. Matte (one application and buff residue) or glossy (two applications and do not buff).

The Leather Cleaner Spray seems to be a little bit more of a routine cleaner type of product that also renews a little of the suppleness and slickness to the leather, which I like since it makes it easier to slide in and out of the car without adding any more wear to the seats than necessary. It's kind of a Leather Care enhancer, as you would want to use the gel and then maintain with the spray. Spray on, agitate gently with a MF and wipe off. Pretty nice product.

BlackSunshine, I'd be interested to learn what your thoughts are on the difference between Z8 and Speed Shine, since I've got a 36oz bottle of Speed Shine sitting around after switching to Zaino. Do you tend to use SS for one purpose, and Z8 for another?

I consider Z8 and Speed Shine two different types of products. Whereas Speed Shine is a quick detail spray with a minute (less than 1%) amount of liquid wax, Z8 is a spray sealant that I save for use after washing. Speed Shine is great for dust accumulation, bugs, general road grime behind the wheels when a full washing may not be necessary. It can also be used as a clay lube. Z8 is fantastic over Z polishes because it adds slickness, gloss, and protection with just a few sprays. Speed Shine may add a little protection, but I reckon not much. Z8 will add significantly to the life of a Z sealant.

I would consider Z6 and Speed Shine more similar as they are both quick detail sprays. Griot's does have a Spray on Wax that is not designed to be used as a quick detail spray, much like Z8.

It is my understanding that you CAN use Z8 to remove LIGHT dust and of course fingerprints and hand smudges.

^ Thanks, BlackSunshine, for elaborating. I had assumed that Z8 was essentially Z6 with extra gloss, and wasn't considering that it had protective properties.

Does the minimal amount of carnauba in SS rinse off with shampoos? Just wanted to verify that using SS as a QD between washes would not interfere with sealant bonding.

I've been pleasantly surprised at how much protection SpeedShine actually adds, sometimes it's dramatic- e.g., I used it to clean a bird bomb once and the area I'd thus treated with SpeedShine was beading a *LOT* better than the rest of the panel, I could even still see a little difference after a gentle wash.

I'm starting to think that my post-wash SpeedShining (trying to use this stuf up!) has a lot to do with the way my Collinite and #16 seem to last forever. Maye not the same effect you get from using Z8 on Zaino (dunno from Zaino) but it sure appears to make a big difference.

My plan has been to switch to some kind of spray wax when I use up my leaves-stuff-behind QDs, but I dunno...what I'm doing now is sure working great for me

If I have been using SS over Zaino, and I am wanting to add another layer of either Z2 or Z5, I will wash with Z7 (maybe a little more highly concentrated than usual) and then give it a once over with Z6 before adding a layer of sealant. With ZCS, this is not necessary and it works just fine over any carnauba the SS may have left behind.

Interesting about the durability. I love "leaves-stuff-behind" QDs because it saves me a step when working on things such as wheels, painted interior trim pieces, door jambs, *cougharoundthehousecough*, etc. I have a lot of spray waxes on my shelves, such as AquaWax, OCW, Griot's, Meg's, Poorboy's, Pinnacle, etc. and I find myself only using them directly after a wash, whereas no dirtier than my Corvettes get, I can get away with washing maybe once every two or three months and using QD after every drive. The added benefit of any protection left behind is welcome.
