Griot's Garage is here!

Do you actually mix all liquids on site? What product has the most complex formula (number of ingredients) combined?

Question about your pads. i heard a few people say they remind them of the LC hydotech pads. So are your pads the same as the hydrotechs?

They are somewhat similar in that they are European pre-polymer foam. All of our pads are reticulated though. We also designed in the unique chamfered edge for added safety and a larger working surface and had the thermoset bond hook and loop. Long story short, they are not the same pads. Hopefully that helps!

We mix everything on site throughout the process (test samples/variants, scale-up batches, production batches). And that is a really interesting question! The winner is probably Best of Show Wax. Richard just told me he counted over 25 ingredients.

Thanks for you reply. Have seen a lot of people say they thought they were the same cause of looks and how they both perform

You're welcome. Side-by-side it's a little easier to tell for sure. There are only so many different types of foam but there are some key differences.

Call me dumb, but I didn't know you guys are in Indy! So cool. Where are you located?

It's one reason that I like to support them. I grew up in south eastern Indiana. I found a dealer in Cincinnati that sells just about everything. If they don't have it, they can get it for me. They also honor the warranty of the company. If anything that I bought from them breaks, they will replace it on the spot.

Our HQ is in Washington State but our DC and bottling facility is located at 2185 Airwest Blvd., Plainfield, IN 46168. And you're in luck! We are having a Garage Sale & Tech Session on June 27th at that location. Hope you can make it out!

I'm fortunate enough to be only 20 minutes away from the Indy site. I've been out there a number of times. Great facility and great staff. It's nice to just go out there and be able to put my hands on a product before I buy it.

I've been to the other "detail days" in the past but won't be able to make this one because I'll be on vacation. :(

Whats wrong with the site the dates wrong on the posts? Today's 6/6/15 just put up the reveal its fine will fix the date later!

That would be interesting to see! Do you allow plant tours?

We usually don't because there is a lot of stuff going on and potentially hazardous machines running but on some of the events held there, we do open up large portions to check out. Our Garage Sale & Tech Session on June 27th will have a lot of the facility open.

OMG!!! This whole time you had a facility not far from my house? I've been driving by it every week on the way to the auction in Plainfield and never knew it was there!! Can I try and/or buy things here? what about warranty repairs? can that be done here? also, how do you sign up for the June 27th deal? this is amazing

I have a question Mr Griot's Garage. I'm posting it here, as it may help someone else. I bought a GG 6" polisher from Autogeek. Somehow, the black plastic shroud has cracked along the front of the polisher, perpendicular to the metal shroud that covers that counter weight and DA mechanism. It's the piece you would rest your palm on.

The machine works fine - and it wasn't dropped. Not sure how it happened, just noticed it's cracked throughout. Is this a warranty item?

To some extent, yes to all! At the June 27th event (which no sign-up is required), you would be able to for sure. During the week/normal business hours, it acts as more of a will call pick-up location. We encourage people to call in, place their order and ask for an Indy pick up. They get very busy out there during the week and aren't always able to take orders/etc on the spot so we don't guarantee they can do that (sometimes they do tho!). Hope to see you at the event!

Ok, that helps a lot. The team I need to run this by is out until Tuesday. I'll go over this with them then if that works.
I resolved my issue. I was applying too heavy. I used a quarter of what I usually used and everything came out perfect. No fault of product, all user error.

Thanks for the help!
