Griot`s PFM Deals

Thought I`d throw it out there - Griot`s has some deals on 10 packs of PFM towels on their site. Easiest way to find them is to just search PFM.

They`ve got 10 packs of the PFM Detailing Towels (16x9), PFM Glass Towels, PFM Wax Removal Towels, and just recently added: The Grey 16X16`s.

Disclaimer: They`re listed as having been made for some of their partners (They look like the Griot`s towels sold at Auto Parts stores Vs what`s on their site), so they`re not just a 10 pack of what you`d buy here or at their site. Also, the GSM is listed as 860GSM vs their current run of PFM Detailing/Grey PFM`s which are 1120. Without digging out an old catalog, I`m 98% sure that`s the original GSM of the PFM towels. GSM was the same for the Glass and Wax Removal towels, just the color`s different.

Not sure how long they`re planning on offering them.

10 Pack Pricing (as of 3/5/20):
Glass: $29.99
Wax Removal: $29.99
Detailing: $39.99
Terry Weave (16x16`s): $59.99

Picked up a set of the Wax Removals and Detailing towels when I got their new Ceramic 3in1, they seem the same as my older PFMs. Get ready to do some unwrapping though, mine came individually wrapped for whatever vendor they had been for.

I got those same glass and wax removal towels during AG’s big MF sales. The pfm’s 16x16’s Igot though are the 1120gsm.

Those glass towels are great. Haven’t use my wax removals yet.

With the new 16x16 pfm’s being about $75 for 10 when on sale... i’ll stick with the new ones.

Thanks for the post though. Gonna get some more glass ones.

Thanks, I really did not need anything but a deals a deal!

The 16x16 PFM has probably been my favorite of all the detailing products I`ve used. I can just about dry my Tacoma with one alone. As if I needed one more thread of microfiber but 10 at $6 each is hard to pass up. Just more for the rotation now. I know I`ve got a few that have been used one too many times with a spray sealant. Will be nice to use them on wheels and such now.

Bought a full sized one last year during a big MF sale, it`s like drying a car with a wet bath robe almost too absurd. But it`s decent for a car with no LSP on it.

Try holding it with your left hand at the top of the fender or window with it hanging down to the bottom edge of the car. With your right hand at the bottom.... dry with your right hand while sliding the PFM along the top edge.

Just know that they are 260 gsm less than the standard pfm’s. Thats 20-25% less so i’d suspect their going to hold less water. Still a great deal rhoufh

Got the 10 for $60 16x16" PFM drying towels in yesterday and gave a few a go today. They are almost not noticeable when dry compared to previous PFM drying towels I have purchased. Can barely tell by dry weight and don`t look any different by design. Could easily dry a 2 door coupe with a good LSP with just one towel.

Thanks for this thread. Just ordered the 860gsm 16x16s. Will use with drying aids and keep my 1120gsm for glossless drying.

Anyone used the pfm glass towels?

Yup. awesome sauce. Use these with Stoner’s and then final wipe with a Zep cloth. Clean and streak free. I probably don’t need the Zep but hey it wouldn’t be Autopian if I didn’t

They`re great, but they`re also really small...which is both good (ease-of-use) and not (need a lot of `em). Buying them cheap in 10-packs is a great opportunity!

:D And I`m pretty much of a Glass Towel Snob too.

Note that I`ll still usually do a final follow-up with a GG Polypropylene Window Wipe, but that`s just me being fanatical about it.

Coatings=crack- Ah, a Zep towel! You might want to try their Zep40 Glass Cleaner too since you apparently don`t mind an aerosol. Pricey stuff though...

I`m out this evening, driving towards the sun and damm...... the PFM glass towel, washed once, left shiny microfiber "lint" all over the glass. Back to cotton diapers. I liked how it worked, but flunked the lint test.

Crazy no linting issues at all. Are you wipimg microfiber side 1st and then “flat side” no product after?

70-80 off time i do follow up with a Zep though.

Yes, I’m gonna have to go back to my “Zep” type cloth.

One thought that comes up is how were they washed?

I used to split my microfiber loads into "Dirty" (Wheels, jams, interior, etc), and "Clean" (wash media, glass, drying, etc towels). I then started to notice that any of my glass towels were linting. I`ve since switched to separately hand washing my glass towels. Just a thought.

Washed in Micro-Restore with other PFM`s and a couple other micro fibers

I too wonder about what PFMs for Glass that lint have gone through...I`m an absolute *FANATIC* about MF Lint, and those are the only plush MFs I`ve ever used that don`t lint..and I`m kinda expecting that they will eventually, just like every other MF I`ve ever had. But *zero* lint so far. I don`t even let mine get *near* other MFs and I even wipe the shop clothes dryer out before I put them in there.

I too hand wash glass MFs and pfm towel I use for drying.

ps: Acummulator, I have no idea how I disliked your post. So I liked it and now is a neutral vote. But I agree with your comments on MF eventually linting but that is not expected to happen to these particular towels, having seen so little action. I bet the “couple other” towels are to blame. I am now adding a like to A’s post :)
