Since I have been posting my other pics I thought some of you might want to see these.... It is hard to take a pic of exhaust inside with the lighing I have but I did the best I could:)

PS I know that the car is dirty, needs washed bad! O well get to that last......

What did you use the Dremel-looking pneumatic tool for?

The SLP "2 on the left" exhaust. Looking good....I preferred the dual quad type tips and had a borla on my Z-28. I had those tips shining pretty good with mothers aluminum wheel polish in the small round tub.

DETAILKING> Ya I like the look af the quads also but I love the sound of 2OTL:)

THX!

Really love the polished exhaust!. I've got Borla SS on my Vette and have done my best to not crawl under it and clean it up. Now you've shamed me into it! Good thing it's freezing rain outside right now, or I'd be forced to get out there. I could just lift the car cover up in back and......Hmmm, where's that yellow rain slicker my wife bought for my son (he's still laughing)!

Just a quick introduction - not new to Proper Auto Care, I've ordered once or twice but have browsed the website hundreds of times and thought I should prolly join the forums.

Just got my 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Sedan painted and want to make sure I take care of it correctly.

Looking to see what others recommend for that newly painted car. It's been about 3 weeks now since getting it and I've had to send the carb back to a shop to get it re-rebuilt :( So, I'll sit back, take my shoes off and browse the forum and order some products soon... :D

If you like browsing photos of vehicles; I have 100's on my website: http://dajatuphoto.com/Cars

thanks!

Welcome to TID, DJT. If you want to learn how to properly take care of that beauty, you have certainly come to the right place. The only product that I am going to recommend to you is BFWD and BF Midnight Sun. If the finish is in perfect condition (swirl free), then that combo will make a black paint job really stand out.

Welcome fellow Mid-Westerner! This is certainly a great place to get product advice as well as to find good products (and deals!). G/L with your beauty and I'm sure we all look forward to seeing more pics when you get around to your Spring detail :)

Thanks Barry for the recommendations with BF products; but have thought about it. I just got my car back about 1 week ago and got to drive it a bit before taking out the carb to send it back to NJ.

The friend that did the paint told me that it wasn't perfect. Even so, it's unbelievable to me. I did notice some swirling going on on the roof and a few spots elsewhere. After taking care of those spots I'm looking forward to the BF products ;)

Hi Marc, SE Michigan? NE Indiana here ;) Ever been to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival? or the :cough: Kruse Auctions :cough: now R&M Auburn Auction?

Welcome to TID DJT, looks sweet the Ford! Take a look at our Blackfire products today, you might want to jump in on them......:ar!

What an awesome car!

How long did your painter recommend you wait before waxing?

Welcome to TID!

Thanks! The car was one of those... "lil old lady cars". It belonged to my next door neighbor growing up. It was actually her sisters first, then hers when her sister passed in the early 70's. The 2nd owner sold it to my parents when she went into a nursing home in 1982. My parents sold it to me in 1994.

The painter is a really good friend of mine, tho he lives 2000mi away. He took the car with him and partially restored it. I got a really good deal on it, thus if there are a few imperfections, I'm not complaining. Before Ken, I only dreamt of getting the car looking this nice.

As for the wait to wax period... he didn't... ???

However... last week was in the 60's so I got to drive it before taking the carb out and sending it away. Now unable to drive it and it's in the 30's! this week and rainy, it sits in the garage waiting to get a bath (very dusty).

I really enjoy cleaning cars... but could Ford have made the Galaxie a just a tad smaller? IT'S HUGE......

Finally made the plunge....
