Hello
I found this site and it is great and informative! I am thinking hard about starting a MANUAL car wash business, and the issues I have right now are those: how to get power to turn on my shop-vac ( I will be working in a parking garage, where it is not advisable to have wires running across the ground), and which shop vac to buy. Anybody heard of the Bissell Green Machine? Doesnt look so professional but are the results good? What about a generator that will not make me deaf by end of day? And, what is a good source of brushes and other tools? Any dos and donts? Is that enough questions=)? Thanks to all!!

Well, you're in the right place. So WELCOME !!

Pull up a chair, sit back and enjoy the site. Lots of good people and info.

Parking garages are poorly lit. Are they giving you a dedicated area to work? If so, then you should be able to run a hefty cord from the nearest outlet and string it to the ceiling somehow.

and which shop vac to buy.

The most popular choices are either Rigid's from Home Depot or Craftsman at Sears.

You will find fans of that machine here. It's to wimpy to me. I would rather spend my money on a commercial vac at least for better extraction power.

What about a generator that will not make me deaf by end of day?

A generator in a parking garage? Not a good idea. Not only will you go deaf but you will irritate everyone around you.

And, what is a good source of brushes and other tools? Any dos and donts? Is that enough questions=)? Thanks to all!!

Do you know what you are doing? You might want to research a little on washing cars properly without doing it harm. Feel free to check my store out for brushes and detailing tools. I'm sure you can probably find some decent brushes at your local Walmart or Target.

Welcome to DC.
