Greatest *GLAZE ONLY* product?

Hey guys. I am curious as to what you would recommend as the best glaze only product? In other words, I have like 4 different polishes that do great for swirl removal, and cutting, etc etc....

But on customers cars, sometimes I wish to make the paint pop even more, so I was wondering which glaze would be the best filling and produce the deepest shine?

Suggestions please

RMG tops my list, followed by VM and the new Pinnacle XMT Finishing Glaze is pretty good, too. Others have used One Grand's glaze and liked it as well, but I haven't tried it yet.

I'll second the vote for RMG. After two rounds with the PC on my black pickup, I was still a bit dismayed. RMG made me feel better...even if it's a short-term high. :)

I haven't been able to test filling ability yet, but CG EZ Creme Glaze gives a dripping wet appearance while also adding protection (it's an acrylic polymer). Plus, you can use sealants over it! :getdown

RMG = red moose glaze, yes.

RMG, imo, is not the best glaze, but it is the best "glaze buy". Here is my reasoning:

It will not fill as much as say, Megs Show Car Glaze or Menzerna FTG. Those, imo, are the best "glazes" in that they do a lot of filling and leave the surface very glossy and wet. On the other hand they can be a pain to remove and can re-act poorly with some sealants.

RMG is much more of a versatile product in that it will darken and deepen paint, do some minor filling, is effortless to remove, seems to play nice with *most* sealants (though some have reported decresed durabilty when using it), AND it can be mixed with a cariety of other products with great results. VM, IP, FPII, PG.

So if I had to buy one it'd be RMG for sure, luckily I don't have to buy only one so I can have RMG and FTG/#7. :)

Correct me if I am wrong but if you put down a glaze you have to seal it in with a carnuba correct? If attempted to put a sealant over it they will not bond right?

Reason I ask is on a recent pay detail I put down PS, then RMG and then 845. I assume that the RMG bonded with the PS because it sure looked great but I always wonder what will a glaze adhere to and what will adhere to a glaze.

aren't glazes supposed to be just adhering to the paint itself?

like, glaze would be your first step after a polish?

that was my impression even though I've never actually used a glaze.

That is correct, polish, then glaze, then wax/seal.

RMG is extremely easy to use and does add depth/wetness to the paint, however, I think that any of the 3M glazes (Imperical Hand, Perfect IT Machine/Hand) leave most others in the dust in terms of reflectiveness and filling ability.

Sealants will bond to a glaze, but some of them are pickier than others. For example, both EX and EX-P will go over a glaze without an issue, and get you the same durability they always do. FMJ is the same way. SG, Zaino, and a few others are a little more finicky about what they'll bond to (or so is my impression), so I'd skip glazes with those. I rarely use glazes by themselves (I use RMG/VM or RMG/polish combos). If I do use a glaze only it's almost always FTG topped with FMJ, or Megs #7 topped with a wax.

Like I said one of the best combo's Men PO85RD or Final Polish then RMG X 2 then Pin. Sourveran. Awesome!!! To me Glazes are under used! It is a ver effective tool for getting that deep wet shine!!!!!

Thank you that is what I was looking for. With that said would PBs EX-P bond over PBs Polish with Carnauba?

I have never used their polish with carnauba, only regular EX (with carnauba), and of course you don't combine EX and EX-P, so the answer is; I don't know. If I had to *guess* I would say it will bond, but you might see decresed durabilty. Sealants over carnaubas of any kind have always re-acted poorly that way for me. I think it'd probably be better to go from SSR1 to EX-P, just a thought.

Vote here for CG's EZ Creme Glaze. Yes I've used RMG and liked it but to me the wetness, depth and clarity of EZ Creme did it for me. As easy to use as RMG if not more so. Looks absolutely stunning on dark colors and more than holds it's own on lighter colors and metallics.
