Mr. Clean

The Man Who Knows The Man
Those little Dixie Chicks got theirs tonight!

I'm sure it's been a long and strange journey since I first heard them as a quartet literaly playing the streets of downtown Dallas.

Talent.

I looked at the categories, and IMO they were just better than the other contenders in most of them.

Record of the year - without question....James Blunt, give me a break
Album of the year - maybe the Red Hot Chili Peppers were a close contender. after all it did win best rock album
Song of the year - no doubt....again what is with this James Blunt?
Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal - Little Big Town maybe?
Best Country Album - I haven't even heard the Willie album. Alan Jackson gets plenty of recognition at the CMAs

I missed a lot of the show doing other things. I was disappointed that little Carrie Underwood won anything. I detest that one song Before He Cheats I was a fan before that song. She must think she's Gretchen Wilson

Enough said. IMO, they are talentless. But I guess it's just up to personal taste. I'm not trying to start an arguement, I just don't care for their music at all. I'm sure almost everyone in here could say the same for at least one artist that I listen to.

It's good to see them get some recognition despite all the negative publicity heaped upon them and the ignorant radio stations that refuse to play their songs.

With the comments they made, I can certainly understand why they're getting negative publicity. It's pretty bold to say that you're ashamed that the President of the United States is from your home state of Texas.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that are ashamed of him. They just had the guts to say it.

Well as you say there is no sense in arguing, but like them or not anyone would be hard pressed to witness Emily and Martie ply their trade at their respective instruments and be able to label them talentless.

Natalie is certainly a lightning rod. I can't say that I can appreciate everything she has to say. IMO, if it were not for her Dad, she might not have lucked into that gig.

I miss the original Chicks, but they still put out some really listenable music and if they had continued on their original path they might not have reached the level of commercial success that they enjoy now.

Oh yeah, and Natalie was wrong in her '03 comments...George W. Bush is no Texan. :D

How about Mary K. Blige (sp?)?? Her performance gave me chills! And even though I don't personally care for Christina Aguilera, I thought she did a nice tribute to James Brown, I kept waiting for someone to come out and put a cape on her and carry her offstage. lol

Did she do It's a Man's Man's Man's World? I missed her performance, but I would have liked to have seen it as you describe.

Yes she did. It was strange to see this blonde young girl singing It's a Man's Man's Man's World. If they were going to have a girl sing it I would have loved to see Jennifer Hudson do it, but anyway, Christina has a good voice. She just looked strange singing the song. lol

The Grammy Awards are known to have a Liberal agenda, it’s just another jab at GW and they're just pawns.

So it's a consiparcy? :d They had to be nominated to be in a position to win. Just a WAG, but it could also be that they were better than those who were nominated in the same categories.

I do like anyone who speaks out about Bush. Musicians spend so much time traveling the world that it becomes a much smaller place. They are right to want a more diplomatic government because international opinion directly affects their life. All the true patriots need to realise that to love America means to protect her ideals, not just her borders. (OMG sorry for the politics!!)
