Gps

I have a Garmin GPS and even though it's about 5 years old it still doesn't get lost....

For those of you that have an iPhone or Android smart phone, there's a free GPS app that's absolutely amazing.....it's name is WAZE

I just downloaded google maps on my iPhone and I like it so far. I avoided doing the software update just to keep google maps until the app was available.

I might try Waze though.

Normally I don't get directions or use GPS. All I usually do is get the specific area I'm driving to and I'm usually good.

Use it wisely and be kind to it. My brother-in-law has a Garmin and always argues with the woman giving directions as he thinks he knows better. He lives in SoCal and while on a trip to Washington State he was crossing the Golden Gate Bridge and right in the middle of the bridge the woman told him to take a left turn. Some of them have an attitude and a good memory.

:lol2:Dan!

So I got it set up and drove a couple blocks from my house and touched home for my destination.

It did take me the quickest way I suppose but it took me through a bad neighborhood I would normally drive through.

Then she pronounced a street in an odd way and I missed my turn! I would have been confused if I didnt know where I was !

I hope it gets better then this !

So nobody minds being talked to while you drive? I find it distracting.

I find the Nav in my Grand Cherokee no more distracting than listening to my Ex nag me while I drove with her in the car, so you will probably be ok.

Also be sure to experiment with the volume so its not too loud but not so soft that you cant hear it when you are playing your Rock Music, ok ? :)

Is the screen big enough so you can clearly see the mapped streets, and things ? This also helps one know if the little Leprechaun in there is really accurate or maybe had too much Vicks Nyquil this morning.

All I can say about this Nav stuff is that mine took me to the absolute worst, scary, parts of El Paso, Texas; like right next to the big Fence between Texas and Mexico, and I was the only person there driving a really nice Black, Optiguarded Jeep, and everyone was wanting to make it theirs..

So, again, you have to kind of know where you are anyway if possible..

Good luck with this DC !

Thanks Dan!:D

Ive had more trouble with this unit already! Today it wouldnt let me put my street address in and kept losing the GPS signal. After several minutes I gave up and by then she made me late for work. Then when she took me home it wouldnt show any maps or streets and her voice really sucks at pronouncing streets .

I hate her already!I better program the mans voice!:lol2:

I love my garmin. Very simple to program, gets me to where I need to be. I also like that it finds restaurants for me when I'm out of town.

I set my Garmin to use ebonics and instead of saying "recalculating" it says, in it's best Mr. T voice ... "damn fool"

Well Richard was worse ,he didnt tell you the streets .At least Susan knew the streets so I have Susan again!

Ive been having a terrible time with these promotion scripts comming up and not letting me even type in an address or letting me see the maps. I found out after some research I had to connect it to my PC and manually remove the "SCRIPT" files.

Since then its been behaving .Im hoping I learn to like it because up until now its been a total PITA.

Im glad you all are happy with your GPS! I hope I get there too!
