Got my new bike frame built up. So sexy!

Frame is made in the same factory as my Fuji frame was, but has a higher grade aluminum (7005 vs 6061), more sloping top tube and somewhat reshaped tubing. Not sure if the front wheel (Mavic Ksyrium Elite) can be trued but I was able to find a Mavic Askium Race front wheel on craigslist to replace it for now. Had to reuse my son's yellow stripe front tire (his bike is black and yellow) since my tire got sliced into when I wrecked.

No problems with my shoulder riding, however, 5 weeks off the bike I am feeling a bit, plus the winds this week have been horrible, 20-35 mph since Wednesday. Still was able to ride 104 miles this week, first 50 in my old Cannondale, the rest on my new bike. The new bike rides very well, fits me a little better than the old frame. Weighs right around 17.5 pounds with pedals.

:)

Congrats Scott. Scattante's are really great bikes for the $. I used to have an R-650 and have a Roma as a commuter bike. If you want to get matching wheels, check out Neuvations, I have a set and really love them.

A pair of Neuvations would be about the same as the front Ksyrium Elite but if I hadn't found the Mavics on craigslist for $300 for the pair (before the wreck) I was going to get the Neuvations.

I like how the Scattante frame is the same as any of the big names would have, just private labeled for Performance Bikes. Comes out of the same factory as Fuji and I think Giant as well. Thought about getting a Cannondale CAAD10 frame but really didn't feel like popping for $1000 for one. Even the CAAD9 frames are still pretty pricey used.

Nice! Now if they could just equip them with a stupid rider approaching stun gun you'll be all set ;)

You have to be a real failure at life to not be able to walk, ride, skate or run at a public park without endangering others, don't you think?

Got in 28.8 miles this evening, 30 yesterday. Rides real nice, every smooth. I stand on it and it is a freakin' rocket!

BTW, the paint on it is better than 99% of the cars I have ever worked on.
