Got my Foamer today, now I need some foam

I don't get it then, what's the point of foaming up the car if you still have to use a mitt?

Well....you don't need a bucket :p . The foam seems to lift off some of the dirt (bubble breaking action?) and allow it to float away. I've never used a pressure washer so I don't know if that would be a different way to do it.

People use different techniques for the foam gun. I've only had mine for a few months, so for me it's been mostly a bucket replacement; you can foam larger sections of the car at a time than you could wash with one mittfull from a bucket, plus it seems you don't need to rinse as often (less dirt on the car/mitt), so it's just less trips to the bucket(s). The foam doesn't really release the film adhered to the side of the car, so that has to be removed by agitation, but the clinginess of the foam allows you to keep those surfaces wetter while you are agitating. I haven't done the "gun in one hand mitt in the other" technique yet.

I brought a Kracher Foamer attachment for my Electric PW from them. I usually use Meg's Gold Glass but am thinking it may not do the trick in this application.

What Shampoo do you guys with foamers use?

I'm looking for something that will take down the road salt/spray and dirt with minimal aggitation/scrubbing but not eat through my LSP's.

Something in between Meg's Gold Class and the uber strong detergents the Touch-less places use.

Wow, even with half the pictures not working, that was one of the best foam gun threads ever!

EDIT: Haven't figured out what a TFR is yet, tho.

Setec,

TFR = Traffic Film Remover

Seems to be mostly used with pressure washers & across the pond.

It's "google-able" ;)
