Anybody here have an account? I don't know anybody that does and it says you need an invitation from someone that has an account. I would like to get an account. I know you can use your cell number and they will text you a pass word to open an account but I would rather not give my cell number. TIA:howdy
 
I've got a million too. I'm surprised that they haven't opened it up for everybody by now... I've had my account for a couple years now.
 
theres a website, you give them your email address, and they will send you an invite. worked for me, Ill try to find it, and post it up.

Google's web site says you need an invite or send a text message from your cell phone.

Thanks PEI Detail I got the e mail invite and will set the account up tomorrow.

Once you are a member for a while, they just keep adding invitations to your account. You'll be up to 100 before you know it.

I just opened an account yesterday. It's basically a web based e mail service like MSN Hot Mail and Yahoo Mail. G Mail gives you something like 2 or 2 1/2 Gigs of storage so you basically don't need to delete any messages.
 
I love my Gmail. I never have to worry about losing emails. You don't need to sort things into folders because you can always just search for them. It has a great SPAM filter too. I rarely get an actual SPAM email in my inbox. Maybe one a month gets through and the rest get zapped and put in the SPAM folder (It deletes all the spam older than 30 days. I consistantly have over 900 emails in that folder, so I know it does a good job at filtering).

The 50 invites I sent were to http://gmail.afraid.org It is a page where people can request an invite and they send them one of the ones donated. I've been getting 'invitation accepted' emails all day, so they are pretty quick at handing them out. I'll give them the rest of my invites later today.

Well i dont get that many e mails,so this may not be for me Huh?
