Good chrome polish?

I've been using Eagle One metal polish, but is there anyhting out there thats much better? I'm using it to clean up old crappy chrome on my 55 chevy..so I need strong stuff. Just wondering what my other options are.

The harshest chrome polish I can think of is the inexpensive Turtle Wax Chome Polish.

Plus, it's inexpensive, too.

Of course, no product will fix pitting or hazed chrome - that calls for replating.

Hmm, I have used that too...I just was hoping there'd be more shine out there somewhere without replating. No polshing kits or anyhting to speak of?

I used to reach for NeverDull for my chrome. Then I got my hands on Mothers Chrome Polish ... and to my HUGE astonishment, Mothers does even better than NeverDull on my chrome that's in good condition. But, yeah, if your chrome is truly "crappy," then replating is probably the way to go. And it's not actually too dang expensive -- at least it's less expensive than buying a new bumper. (Or that's been my experience so far.)

One Grand Chrome Polish may do it. First time I bought some I made the mistake of "takin' a wiff". OH man, I thought my nose hairs incinerated! It's very strong stuff. Use with 0000 steel wool if necessary.

Thats exactly what I use. Of course I don't follow the directions:nono I rub it in with a an old cloth untill the polish turns brown/black (if the rims are pretty clean the polish wont turn colors) and I have removed all of the brake dust. I don't let it dry either I just buff it with a clean cloth.

heavy metal polish .net I found them on the web and they make 3 different types of metal cleaners.SOFT MEDIUM HARD so you have your choice.I cleaned chrome tailpipes and they shined.I was very happy with there product

You just can't beat FLITZ polish!

Polishes and leaves a protective coating.

I like Mothers for more serious chrome polishing needs and Vanilla Moose on chrome in good condition that just needs light polishing.

Serious chrome problems require replating. Check in the yellow pages or call around high end body shops and see who they use for rechroming. Hemmings might also have some listings.

Where do you go for replating? Or de-chrome it?

Yet another reason to show your "Location" (via the User CP). :D

When I needed some parts re-chromed, I relied on the experience of my fellow Jag club members. If we knew where you were located, somebody might be able to give you a referral. Otherwise, like Scottwax said, let your fingers do the walkin'.
