Gonna use Klasse AIO/SG...but whats all this talk of "sterile"??

hey all,

Ive used AIO on my black paint before....LOOKED GREAT! However, Im really interested in trying the Sealant Glaze (SG). Ive been doing some research on the SG. I've read some opinions where people complain that the SG shine is too "sterile". I have no idea what this means. Could someone please elaborate?

I've also heard of folks applying a carnuba ON TOP of the SG, (after proper curing times of course). Would I have to worry about any marring, or ill effects from doing this? Specifically, I want to try P21S over the SG....what do you guys think?

Thanks.

People find the look of sealants reflective but not very deep and warm.

And for sure, go ahead and top it with P21S. Its a combo that is very popular on the forum and I have used and like it alot. The P21S takes the edge of the reflectivity and adds depth to the AIO/SG. If you have Sonus to QD with, even better!

Don't be put off by reading personal opinions here. Ask a question here and you'll get as many different answers as you get replies.

What I've found is that I prefer the look of the AIO+SG on my black Benz.

When I use carnuba on the Benz, it looks clean, it looks deep, but it doesn't have the 'wow' factor.

With the SG, even the neighbors comment on how good the car looks. And to be honest, my (admitedly untrained) eye doesn't see the 'shallowness' others report.

Regardless, it's not the comments of others that should determine what you do. Give it a try, and form your own opinions.

As many others here have said, if the shine is too 'sterile', top it with some carnuba . . . and at least you'll then know what you prefer on YOUR car.

PS: If you're going to try the SG, I'd definitely recommend looking up the BillNorth method for application. It's a lot easier than following the directions on the bottle, and durability (in my tests) wasn't compromised.

It's a weird thing to describe. I love the look of AIO/SG. Its just that when you are finished with the sealants, and THEN apply the P21S/S100 (or other carnuabas) on top it is even better!

On the other hand, if I had only a choice of Klasse or carnuaba I would agree with dmatre, it's Klasse all the way. It just pops with shine!

This carnauba user finds AIO/SG to actually be one of the "warmest" lookiing of the sealants. I think it looks great. Use it and trust your own eyes.

I agree entirely. I have MANY layers of SG on my cars now, I can't get enough of the reflectivity. I really couldn't see much difference by adding P21s to a black Mercedes I detailed so that's what made to totally decide to use the SG only. I've stopped adding layers now, I don't think the paint looks any different, it has reached its maximum potential in terms of reflectivity.

I'm confident if you decide to just go with just SG you will be VERY pleased with the results

I tried AIO/SG last season. It gives a nice "polished rock" look. It does however lack depth and personality, I felt too it was sterile.

Alot of sealants get this rep. However of the sealants out the most unsterile of them are NXT, EX-P, and WG IMO. I like EX-P personally.
