Going to do Z2 pro w/o ZFX or Z1

Hi Guys,

I plan to apply one coat of Z2 pro on my dad's truck. I will prep the truck with AIO. I have read a few posts where other members have applied Z2 and Z2 pro over AIO w/o Z1 or ZFX and have had no problems. What do you think? Keep in mind that I can not aford Z2 pro and ZFX that is why I am not buying both of them. Are their other alternatives?

Gabe .. I've used Z2 Pro alone with no ZFX or Z1 and in the short term there appears to be very little difference in terms of looks between Z2 Pro applied over Z1 or with ZFX and with Z2 Pro used alone.



I say short term because I'm only about 6 weeks into a test I am running comparing Z2 Pro with Z2, UPP and AIO used alone. So far Z2 Pro used alone appears to be holding up as well as the Z2 and Z2 Pro + ZFX panels and markedly better than UPP and AIO panels, both of which show no signs of beading or sheeting (or anything!). I used Z2 Pro alobne over a panel prep'ed with Menzerna FPII.



May be long term durability will suffer and I did notice that Z2 Pro used alone appeared to attract a little more dust than the Z2 Pro/ZFX until the first wash.



Please note, I'm not recommending using Z2 Pro like this to anyone, I'm just experimenting and getting to know the new Zaino products. I do suspect that Z2 pro's long term durability will suffer by skipping Z1 or ZFX, but only time will tell.
