The GC is one long ways from NY...I hope this is not one of those car trips...
I did a few of those as a kid...one I recall was from NO CA to North Dakota and then up to Canada and across to Oregon, dropping back down into CA ....all in my fathers 66 Pontiac Bonneville...We did a few family car trips....looking back it was a great time...felt like the Chevy Chase in vacation going to Wally World
