Going from orbital to rotary...suggestions?

I can't find the Makita anywhere locally...and I'm certainly not going to pay to have it delivered...
I might just have to get the DeWalt (and build some upper body strength!)

good plan .. you also know where you can get it repaired or replaced if there is a problem :bigups

I have the Porter & Cable Rotary and its realiability has been great no problems after 6+ years. Now remember that a rotary has extra weight and while it might not seem like alot at first doing those doors and side panels can get rough on your arms. Thats where I wish I had the Metabo, lighter then my PC Rotary...also the PC Rotary losest speed is 1K...I wish it dipped down to like 700.

Just noticed Canadian Tire also has a Simoniz 7-in. Sander & Waxer...
Just $99...

Has an 2/3HP motor, and pretty light weight...5.2 LBS
Although online, it says it's only a 2-speed at 1100 to 1350RPM, in the store it said 11A motor rating and 600 to 3000 RPM...

I'm not familiar with that unit, but a lot of people try to save a few bucks by not buying the "usual" tools, and almost always, they are disappointed. If they have a great return policy, it might be worth a shot. Just make sure that you will be able to use the correct backing plates with it.

They do have a great return policy...it might be worth a try.
Only if it's the 600 to 3000RPM version though...

I think I'd pass on that unit and just get the Dewalt that you know is reliable :rockon
