Going back to Z

Well looks like Im going back to the Z side...I can get the same results with a Blitz/IHG combo....at least to my eyes...BUT...I can get the results EASIER with Zaino and it lasts a heck of a lot longer...Also on my truck the Z5 does a great job of hiding swirls..I noticed when I stripped the Z off I had many more swirls than before..So Im in the process of using Meg #9 to prep the paint and am going to put the Z back on again....

Hi Wolf,

As soon as all my carnauba waxes run out (which might be a while) I'll probably make the switch back to Zaino too. Although I really like how carnauba looks on black, I think in the long-run it's more important to have the extra protection afforded by Zaino.

What's interesting is that it's been 4-5 months since I've clayed my car but the horizontal surfaces have NOT stayed as silky smooth as they did back when the car had Zaino on it. This tells me that carnauba isn't as resistant to surface contaminants as Z is.

But what it mainly boils down to (& this was your main point as well) is that I believe with Zaino, you get the most results (comparatively speaking) with the least amount of effort. Sure, other stuff like BF & carnuaba hide swirls a little better than Z-5 & might have a little better initial shine, but Z-5 outlasted anything else I've ever tried. Plus, as long as your surface is prepped properly, the swirl-filling props of Z-5 isn't even an issue.

Be sure to post pics when you're done! :)

It's no secret, there are many products that can provide a shine similar to Zaino, and some of those products aren't even waxes! But, there is much more to a wax than shine alone, as you have found.

Welcome Back!

Purchase a PC and a liquid sealer. Some practice and you can achieve a completly swirl free finish that lasts for months. Tomorrow I will post a pic of my trunk lid to demonstrate.
