Truck is brand new GM 2011 black (clearcoated)

What is a good sealant to use . It has never been touched. Paint is smooth so no clay is needed. Also if you could suggest a QD that works well with what you suggest .

Thank you.

I just picked up an 11 Vette that was transported by an enclosed car carrier from Kentucky and it sat on the dealers lot for less than a week. It still needed claying, I'm shocked yours doesn't.

That what you bought to replace your wrecked car? Or is it just for a customer?

On larger vehicles, I almost always use Opti-Seal. Great protection and the ease of application on an SUV can't be beat. Once around it and done.

Fallguy- Congtrats on the new car (you too, Yakky!).

I'd do a decontamination (with AutoInt/ValuGard's "ABC" or the Finish Kare version) just to be on the safe side. Hey, it's basically just doing a few extra washes, no biggie.

Then I myself would probably use FK1000P. IF the look didn't absolutely thrill me, I'd take solace in the knowledge that it'll be well protected and shed dirt incredibly well (thus minimizing the chances of wash-induced marring).

I always use 1000p by hand . Does anyone have easier way ? will it look deep on black ?

I'm happiest when I do it by hand. The machine application never really makes it easier/quicker as it's just not that kind of product (and note that I *do* apply many paste waxes by machine).

I dunno if it'll look "deep", it *is* a "not-oily" sealant. But if you simply can't live with how it looks (and that would surprise me, especially if you tried living with it for a few weeks) the you can always top it with a "depth and jetting" style wax. I had my doubts about its look on my Carbon Metallic GMC, but after a while I was perfectly happy with it (and I enjoyed all the compliments).

Can I put some DG 105 over the top of the 1000p ? I did the one coat of 1000p and it looks good , but missing that edge I was looking for. Also the vehicle is to big for me to do by hand and want a product I can do by PC. I have always been a DG big fan.

If it were me I'd Opti-Coat it.

Same here, especially if you aren't used to the elbow work involved in detailing larger trucks/SUV's. Its almost a vacation to detail sedans after doing SUV's.
