Gloss enhansing polish, wet over ice combo

How necessary is using the GEP before the wet over ice combo? I have a 2014 in good shape and I am thinking this might not be needed at this time. How much wet diamond is used for each application on a small car? This will be done by hand if that matters. Thanks
 
I would use something to prep the paint. IMHO, the BF product isn't the best - but if you already have it - just use it. If not, get some Prima Amigo.
 
bfgep is really more of a cleaner with some filling ability than a true polish. it will definitely enhance the bonding of the bfwd to the paint. a little goes a long way for the bfwd, so a couple of thin coats will do better than over applying one coat. that bottle will last you for years, even with constant use.
 
Its always best to stay within the family using gep in the blackfire family. Its the perfect foundation for wet ice over fire.
 
Thanks guys, I did see their sale and I picked up the small bottle of BF-GEP. I am going to try this combo for the winter.
 
I received the BF wet ice combo today. The GE polish should arrive in the next few days. Does anyone suggest two coats of the sealer a day apart before the wax top coat or should I wait until winter is closer to put on the wax? Any suggestions welcome, my first time using BF. Thanks

Last time I used BFWD/BFMS I did two layers of BFWD 12-24 hours apart (depending on environmental's) then topped with 2 layers of BFMS 2-6 hours apart...

By environments I mean:

  • Humidity
  • Temperature
  • UV/IR (amount of harsh sunlight the car is exposed to)
  • Indoor/Outdoor parked
  • Etc.
 
I have to do this outside, so I will do it or at least start in the morning to give it time to cure. Do you think I can get two coats in a day 8-10 hrs apart or do I need more time? My issue is cleaning it for the second coats due to all the stuff blowing around. I may do it over a few days. I thought the BFMS was a WOWO wax?
