Glass Towels - MF overload

What are ya'll using for glass towels. I'm in MicroFiber Overload. Run of the mill surgical towels.

Who online is carry a low nap suedish sorta glass towel...

For over a year now I more or less exclusively use a California water blade to squeegee away glass cleaner and dry up the remaining with either a surgical huck towel, no nap MF or a WW MF. I am very pleased with this method.

I use WW and I tried a small area with the low nap MF. I prefer the low nap MF.

So my dedicated WW glass are getting retired and I'm looking for it's replacement

Timing? We just put in for a new order of 5000 very low nap (ribbed weave) glass towels. This was after a few guys tested a Sonax glass towel. Will be about 9 weeks for delivery, but hope they work well. I still use the huck towels. A fellow detailer gets them free from a local hospital. They are used 1x, cleaned and given to him. Might be an idea for you all.

Yuck. How is this even possible. I would think any standard or compliance....would not even allow recycling of such a item from a hospital.

Have you ever stayed in a hospital? They wash everything and use it again. I walk into rooms daily that the beds have been pissed in and those same bed sheets will be washed and used again. Why is it that Huck towels are washed and reused and that disturbs you?

It does not disturb me. Washing and being *reusued* in the same facility is one thing.

I just don't see how it's allowed for it to be *recycled* and resold outside of that facility ....

Hell, I didn't even know that it was on the market as such.

Hence my reaction when I 1st read it..

Back on topic, Google KD towel. I just received one in a trade and it is down right amazing.

He told me they give them to him..no charge. He picked up 4200 according to his post. I am not sure health code wise how they do this, but then again, he's not in CA. :)

I still use the Griot's Polypropylene Glass Wipes for the final pass(es), never found anything quite as good though I do use all the usual suggestions for the first pass(es).

The ones that are cleaned after use in a hospital, etc are completely sterile.

No worries or I would have been dead 20 years ago.

Same here. Bill's strategy has been working well for me.

You can buy a pack of new huck towels for cheap money. I think I bought mine on Amazon.

Normally , no.

However, if there are some that don't come off in normal washing, I pull out the VG-IS pad that is used in the ABC system and they are gone!

Ron Ketcham- Yeah, the ValuGard Bug Pad (gee, I oughta just memorize that "VG-IS", huh?) is probably better, but a) I was happy to find a use for those Bug Sponges (sure won't touch paint with 'em!) and b) they seem a bit more aggressive than the VG-IS while still OK for auto glass...at least they're that way until the Glass Cleaner softens 'em up but I can usually get most of the job done before that happens.
